You may have seen our director Abi Philo as Belle in this Winter’s pantomime: Beauty and the Beast. Aside from her more well known roles as: the title role in Alice in Wonderland, Viola in Twelfth Night, Footnote in Lords and Ladies and Helena in A Midsummer’s Nights Dream she has also directed Peter Pan the Panto, Robin Hood and Romeo and Juliet. Abi has been a member of Collingwood RSC since she was 15 and has acted, directed, made costumes, done hair and make up and even played a dog! She is loving working with a smaller cast and crew and struggling to keep a straight face throughout rehearsals.
Performances are 27 - 30 March at 19:30, and tickets are £8 each by phone 07825 300668 or email collingwoodrsc@sky.com

Howdy y'all! This is Kerry Breen who is playing Tammy-Jo in our upcoming show The Lone Star Love Potion. She has been a regular on the Collingwood RSC stage since 2002 and you may recognise her from one of the many comedy roles she has played in our pantomimes including Mr Smee in Peter Pan and one of the seven dwarves in Snow White. Kerry is possibly most well known for her emotional portrayal of Mercutio, which brought the cast and audience to tears every night. Tammy-Jo is... a far cry from this though with her cowboy boots and fun loving personality. Kerry has had many roles over the years including: assistant director, spot light operator, backstage crew and our club's child protection officer but you may see more of her in this role than you ever have before!

Meet Jane (some might say she needs no introduction) - having played a number of characters in the past requiring some attractive costumes - Nanny Ogg, the White Rabbit, Miss Gossage to name but a few - it would be thought that the opportunity to wear sexy underwear would be a nice change. No. It’s possibly the most scary thing Jane has ever had to do onstage & can only apologise in advance to the audience for what they’ll see. Hopefully it’ll be funny enough to not matter! Performances are 27 - 30 March at 19:30, and tickets are £8 each by phone 07825 300668 or email collingwoodrsc@sky.com

Ed has been acting for far longer than he hasn’t and has appeared in a variety of performances with various amateur and professional companies across the south coast. But enough about that – we are more intrigued by the astounding talent of his facial hair and ability to change it at a moments notice! You will have see this in his notable performances as Jack’s Mum in Jack and the Beanstalk, and the Sherrif of Nottingham in Robin Hood, Gerardo Escobar in Death and the Maiden and the Duke of Clarence in Richard III – can anyone spot which one is Jack’s Mum????? No, neither could we! Performances are 27 - 30 March at 19:30, and tickets are £8 each by phone 07825 300668 or email collingwoodrsc@sky.com

Meet Grace Edwards. She has been an enthusiastic all-rounder for the past 14 years turning her hand to lots of different things. Onstage she has loved playing a lady of the night with all the dressing up (or down) that involves, and excelled as a policeman, and she also willingly gets involved backstage as Assistant Stage Manager and Sound Controller. She’s very excited for this production as she is stepping up to a leading role and promises the only way she is like her character is the clumsiness, even if it does mean showing more than she would normally on stage! Performances are 27 - 30 March at 19:30, and tickets are £8 each by phone 07825 300668 or email collingwoodrsc@sky.com

The Lone Star Love Potion Cast introduction: Meet Texas’s answer to Bianca from Eastenders: Patrice. The lovely Sadie Crawford (better known for her roles as Wendy in Peter Pan the Panto, the White Queen in Alice in Wonderland and one half of the comedy duo in Robin Hood) is taking on her first speaking role outside of a pantomime. She’s pleased with her role as she’s managed to avoid removing too many items of clothes on stage, which is hugely different to her recurring role as a lady of the night in many of our previous productions. Come and have a fabulous fun evening of laughter, performances are 27 - 30 March at 19:30, and tickets are £8 each by phone 07825 300668 or email collingwoodrsc@sky.com

Meet our fabulous Kirsten Carmichael. This is her first time producing for us and she is very grateful for the opportunity to see things from the other side for a change. As well as producing, Kirsten is also leading the set build for this play “It’s interesting, hard work but a lot of fun” she says. You may recognise Kirsten as our Panto choreographer, a role she has taken with aplomb, but also for her Mrs Quickly (the randy cook in Dodger) and the unforgettable Caterpill...ar in Alice in Wonderland. “I love being a part of this theatre family and I can’t wait for you to join us for our next production - The Lone Star Love Potion – if you laugh half as much as I have been in rehearsals you will have a great night”. Tickets are on sale now 27 - 30 March at 19:30. Tickets are £8 each and available by phone 07825 300668 or email collingwoodrsc@sky.com. This is not recommended for younger viewers!

SYNOPSIS Mr. Stancliffe, the owner of a vast fortune, and a two hundred thousand acre Texas ranch has died. His long time butler, Jarvis, and the maid, Melody, along with Mr. Stancliffe’s niece and only living relative Patrice, are there for the reading of the will by the family lawyer, Mr. Oakfield. Strangely, a Miss Tammy-Jo Harper, from the neighboring ranch, has also been ...invited! As expected, Patrice inherits the estate, with one clause, Jarvis may live out his life on the ranch, and Patrice may not sell it without Jarvis’s permission. After the presentation of the will, a Mary Lou Winston unexpectedly arrives. She is a dowdy ornithologist, (or is she?), who is doing research for her masters on woodpecker preservation. She requests to spend the night at the ranch, as her campsite has been rained out. Jarvis, has one other surprise for Patrice.
Acting on instructions from Mr. Stancliffe, he produces from the safe a formula, and a sample of what appears to be a love potion. Mr. Stancliffe wills 25% of the shares to Patrice, 25% to Michael, and 50% to Jarvis. But this is a love potion with a difference. Made from the bark of the Brazilian walnut tree from "Amazonia," it does not affect the person who drinks it. Rather, this powerful aphrodisiac causes them to give off an almost imperceptible odor, which affects the vomeronasal organ of the opposite sex, with devastating effect.
Can it really work? It has the potential to be worth billions. Before long everyone is testing it with hilarious results. The audience, at first convinced that it works, is then persuaded it doesn’t, and is finally left in doubt about both theories. Through all of this confusion, Michael and Patrice connive to acquire the rights to the love potion from Jarvis, by trading his shares for the forty million dollar ranch.

User

Always a pleasure to come and see the shows and pantos. I can only imagine the amount of hard work that goes into producing the final product but it certainly pays off. With the summer shows being performed in some wonderful locations adds to whole experience enormously. Well done everyone.

User

Absolutely fabulous. You all outdone yourselves this afternoon. Rate up there with the stars. Love it when you mingle. And BIG shout out to Nanny and sheriff of Nottingham

Outstanding performance. WELL DONE!!!!

User

We had a lovely time and if you are there for the full day then it's excellent value for money, lots of things to see and do. But we arrived after lunch, due to a few hiccups in getting there early, were charged full price but didn't get to enjoy everything as stools and bouncy castles were closing down at 4:30 even though they were supposed to be open until 5:30. So my only advice to people going next year is get there early!

User

We had a great day yesterday and our little Ines thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The only negative was everything shutting down early. We didn't get there until after lunch following a few travel issues and by 4.30 everything was being taken down or closing so missed some of the things we wanted to see as it was advertised to be open until 5.30. Still a great day out so thank you 😊
