Thank you to everyone for their lovely comments about the window display. Congratulations to MIND who came first, Inches came a respectable second.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tonight for Festive Dursley light switch on and late night shopping. Winter Wonderland is this years theme.

We are honoured to have been asked to display the commemorative boxes for some the local people who lost their lives in the Great War. They will be in the window for the next week so pop by and have a look. There were 12 boxes but only 10 have been recovered so if you are looking after one of the missing ones please drop it into the shop to complete the display.

Well done Charlotte your name choice has been pulled out of the pot. SHIMMERING STARS is yours to keep so pop in and pick her up when you can.

Pop in and help to raise some money for Macmillan Cancer Care by guessing the name of this lovely unicorn made by MaryAnn. Donation of £1 (or more) per guess.

Amazing sewable cork cloth just in. Perfect for small bags, purses and larger bag bases. I love the patterning of it!

It seems that we have a global audience, however I have no idea where to start! Its a shame that Jack doesn’t write in english!

Wondering what to do with the children after school on such a dreary day? Pop into inches and pick up a free welly and start decorating it ready for the welly competition. Only a limited number available so don’t delay!

What a beautiful unicorn made by Mary-ann using polar fleece and felt.

User

Dear shoplifter When stealing items please take the whole packet and then I am none the wiser, leaving the empty packet is just plain rude!

Its time for the INCHES autumn workshop. This year we are holding a skirt making workshop on 13th October. There are four choices of skirt pattern to choose from. The cost is £35 for the day 9.30 - 4.30 including materials, tea, coffee and cake. All you need to bring is yourself, your sewing machine and some lunch. Places must be booked and paid in advance to allow for the packs to be made up. Pop into the shop to book your place, pattern and fabric. Places are limited so don’t leave it too long and be disappointed! Here are three of the styles the fourth is a straight skirt with the opportunity of adding embellishments or some appliqué and machine embroidery to make it completely unique.

The last of the christmas fabric has arrived, look at these beautiful fabrics from Quilting Treasures and Maywood studio and they are only £10.50m. I know its still September but its time to think about those christmas crafts, projects and gifts! Don’t forget I also have Makower and John Louden Christmas fabrics in stock too.

User

Christmas fabric has arrived and is looking lovely. At only £9 per metre or £2.50 for a fat quarter it’s a bargain this year. The nights are drawing in and time to think about those Christmas crafts!

We're so fortunate to have this wonderful independent shop in our local community supplying a wide range of resources for all types of creative crafts whilst also offering courses. Very helpful and friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble - definitely a gem in this market town.

User

Visited this morning to try and find fabric for a 1940s style dress, I forgot to bring my pattern but Caroline very helpfully found it online, and we found fabric, buttons for covering, thread and interfacing. Will post a pic once the dress is made. Caroline couldn't have been more helpful, we'll be back!

Such a warm welcome and lovely helpful lady in inches today. I often walk past and marvel at the wonders and joys of colour, texture, fabric, ribbons, wools, buttons and bits and pieces in the window and on display. Inches is a true asset to Parsonage Street in Dursley. Not my first visit and certainly not my last. Keep doing what your doing as it's fab!

Such a lovely shop and great friendly service. I'm not very 'crafty' myself but every visit makes me think about learning ;-)
