I see life as not just a physical journey but a spiritual one also. A Carl Rogers quote, “The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change. ” With all its stumbles and frailties, and its enormous potential for human growth. “There is nothing stronger than the human spirit. ” However, there are times during life’s journey when confusion and bewilderment, turmoil and upheaval, uncertainty and perplexity can take hold. These are times when individuals’ turn to counselling, this experience can be beneficial and shed light on the situation in order to sort through difficult times. I see myself as a facilitator and my aim is to provide my clients with a safe confidential space in order to explore the depths of their difficulties to acquire some understanding.

I initially trained in Psychodynamic Counselling in the 2012 and continued my studies in a diploma level. I have worked in both a voluntary and a paid capacity, working alongside the Social Services fostering team. Beyond this, my life’s journey has taken me into the field of teaching and training where I have taught therapeutic skills for a number of years.

My latter experience has involved working with a bereavement charity and counselling clients from 9 – 21 through my paid role as a peripatetic counsellor. I have a number of years’ experience of working with adult clients with a range of presenting themes.

I work within the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am subject to its Professional Conduct Procedure.

I have worked with adult clients through my volunteer placement at Cotswold Counselling Services where I have been for the past year. In 2014. I commenced my career in counselling as a volunteer through Swindon MIND, working with clients with issues around Preservation Against Self-Harm and Injury; SWADS the Drugs and Alcohol addiction agency was my introduction into counselling. .

I would be happy to speak with you if you feel I can be of assistance to you on your journey into counselling. I welcome self referrals and recommendations.
