About Itchen Valley Country Park
We have 440 acres of beautiful water meadows, woodland and meadows that, for the past 10 years, have been recognised by the award of a Green Flag plus a dog friendly 60 seat cafe, indoor and outdoor play areas.
Itchen Valley Country Park Description
In addition to the meadows and woodland there are two children's play areas and a Visitor Centre with nature-based displays, a shop and toilets. There is also a Cafe for you to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake after following one of our many way-marked trails around the Park.
Picnics are encouraged and there are many tables throughout the Park. There are two large permanent barbecue sites are available for hire for parties.
There is a charge for parking, although annual and seasonal (4 month) permits are available to purchase from the Visitor Centre.

It is half term! And our trail this week is all about butterflies and their favourite foods (surprisingly its not cake!). It even takes a different route so you have more chance of seeing butterflies as you walk :-) The prize is a choice of craft kit - caterpillar or butterfly and you can take part every day for £2.50 between 10am and 4pm.

In February we installed our Keepers' Trail and we thought it would be nice to introduce you to some of the characters associated with the wooden doors attached to the trees along the Forest Trail. Each character has been brought to life by Rachel Hudson (http://rachelhudsonillustration.com/) and each of the doors has been created by Andy Frost (http://afrostdesign.co.uk/). Echo the Wood Nymph is the bringer of the seasons and the colours reflect this. She oversees the woods in the park. If you want to see some of the others why not pop down to the park and walk the Forest Trail.

The Woodland Cafe will be closed from Monday 29 April for around a week while maintenance work takes place.
You'll still be able to by ice creams, cold drinks, tea, filter coffee and selection of food from our kiosk.

Our Woodland Cafe will be closed for maintenance from Monday 29th April to Friday 3rd May. During this time we will be serving tea, filter coffee, cold drinks, ice cream, cake and a limited selection of sandwiches from the Kingfisher Room. We apologise for the inconvenience but we will be open for business as usual on Saturday 4th May :-)
