Jingshen Bodywork Description

BODYWORK
Based in Bristol BS1, I offer treatments in Thai Massage, Japanese Bodywork (Anma Sotai) and Seated Acupressure Massage.

Anma is a traditional Japanese massage therapy based on the principles of Chinese medicine. As well as using techniques similar to those of other forms of therapeutic massage, anma aims to trigger the body's natural self-healing abilities through acupressure, the stimulation of channels and points on the body, to facilitate the circulation of blood and energy (qi).

Sotai is a modern form of Japanese physical therapy developed by Keizo Hashimoto M. D. (1897-1993). Comprising assisted stretching exercises that equalise muscle tone and correct distortions in posture, sotai can help ease pain in the back, neck or shoulders, and release muscular stiffness or pain anywhere in the body.

Like anma, Thai massage incorporates deep tissue massage, acupressure and assisted stretching to release muscular tension and promote well-being.

Thai massage and anma sotai treatments are usually received on a floor-level futon mattress, but can be adapted for a couch. They do not require oils and are received through clothing.

Seated Acupressure Massage delivers anma techniques to the shoulders, back, neck, head, arms and hands while the client sits in a specially designed ergonomic chair.

TAIJIQUAN AND QI GONG

I teach from the syllabus of the UK Wu Style Taijiquan and Qi Gong Association (http://www. wutaijiandqigong. co. uk /), as taught by my teacher, Michael Acton.
