JT Drum Tuition is the leading Drum Tuition facility in Plymouth. Providing lessons to all age groups, and abilities; from complete beginners to advanced players.
Equipped with three full professional drum sets, both student and teacher sit at their own kit alongside one another. Thus providing clear demonstrations for the student to observe and attempt without having to get up off the stool.
All styles of Drum Kit playing can be learned and mastered at JT Drum Tuition; Jazz, Latin, Funk, Pop, Rock, Reggae, Metal, Fusion, as well as Sight Reading and Theory are taught.
Whether you are looking to take your playing to the next level, or simply learn how to play your favourite song on the drums and have a bit of fun, JT Drum Tuition can help.
Jack Toy, your tutor, is a professional touring and recording drummer with 20 years of experience behind the kit. Jack has travelled through 7 continents playing professionally, and is a highly versatile drummer and tutor.

You won’t go far wrong with Jack! Great guy who simply wants to teach people to drum the way you should: with passion, skill, flare and the proper technique. Technique is so important in playing any music, you’re sunk without it. If you want to be a real drummer rather than someone who plays drums (if you get my drift) Jack’s your man!
Very easy to get on with and talk to, Jack is definitely at the top of his game.
As well as clearly being very accomplished on Drums, he is also great at working with kids of all ages. He has a great friendly relationship with our son but at the same time is able to keep it professional and make sure that the lessons are carried out in full without any distraction.
Everything is covered as far as I'm aware, since starting with Jack at his local school, our son has learned how to read drum music and tabs and do so whilst playing. Now having private lessons at home, they're currently working towards his first grading too. With flexibility in creativity, lots of fun is had and Jack has even helped teach some special requests. He's your man!
Our son loves his drum lessons! Jack is enthusiastic and is really great at building confidence in his students. He also makes sure he keeps parents up to date with progress. Can't recommend enough-really great!
Our 8 year old daughter is absolutely loving her lessons with Jack. She’s progressing really well and after just one term of lessons she performed brilliantly in the school music festival 😊
Olly is really enjoying his drum lessons and is making great progress. Jack has an excellent coaching style which brings the best out of his students. He is very flexible with lesson times & locations, if you are looking for drum lessons - would highly recommend
