Managed to get some odd jobs done at the chip van this weekend, also showed Holly round mum's work, she'll be working on the till in no time! 😂 xx

So over the weekend we spoke with our welder, who's going to do some much needed welding on the van for us and we had a chat with a sprayer who's gonna help us with the paintwork outside! Things are starting to happen to big old Betsy and we'll be back on our round in no time, missing all you guys! 🐟🍟😉 xx

So I'm enjoying maternity leave, getting to experiment with new recipe ideas! This is salt, pepper and chilli squid, squid ink mayo and pickled red onions! It's delish 😋

So we had a very busy weekend, not with #fishandchips but with bringing this little cutie home, Holly Louise Stone was born Saturday morning at 9.40am, weighing 7lb 6oz 😊 we'll have her trained on the chip van in no time! 😂 xx

It's official 😃 proud to have our certificate! ☺ We have always tried to use eco friendly bio packaging and not polystyrene or plastic! And try to use paper carry out bags and not carrier bags (weather permitting) 😂🌧 xx

So it's #fryday it's #raining and I'm #pregnant, do i need any more excuses to put my feet up with a cuppa teapigs, lemon and ginger tea and my fav cookbooks? 😋 Spending the morning doing some menu planning/ideas for our re launch when I come off maternity leave 👶 what kind of things do you wanna see on the menu, leave a comment below 😉 xx

So we may not be serving at the moment, and I may be sat at home with my feet up (I wish 😜) But we are taking bookings for next year's events, we have a few weekends booked up already, so be sure to send us a message if you want tasty fish and chips at your event! 🐟🍟😋

We will be spending our summer renovating the van (and decorating the nursery😂) the chip van needs a few odd jobs doing to it, keeping us busy that's for sure! Keep an eye on our Facebook page and website to see what we'll be upto on the van! 😉...

Apologies to anyone that was planning on coming up for fish and chips this weekend, we won't be out! It's just to hot in this heat and not fair on poor old me, 31 weeks pregnant and struggling 😞 let alone being in a 45+ degree fish and chip van 😳🤒 the safety of my staff, our mini me and myself is more important 👶 😉 If the weather is a bit cooler next week we'll try and venture out on the Friday evening! Beaut of an evening for fish and chips! 😎 we have these specials on this evening, catch us on golf links road, westward ho! 4.30-7.30pm tonight, it's our 2nd to last Saturday before we hang up our aprons for Kate's maternity leave 👶 xx

We are serving in Londonderry farm this evening 4.30-7.30pm 😃 nice and sunny evening for fish and chips! Xx

So we aren't serving in east the water this evening, we are doing Friday and Saturday this week and next week and that's just about it from us for now, we may do an odd day or two to use up the last of any stock etc... keep an eye on here for an update on that 😉 xx

Used last night for the first time whilst on holiday visiting family who live locally,we all throughly enjoyed our food,the cod was great as were the pea fritters ,if your in the area I would highly recommend.

These guys pitched up at Pigstock and I can honestly say I was served the best tasting cod and chips I've ever experienced!

The best sausage and chips (times three) we have had, just down the road as well, perfect, oh yes, Boo our collie, loved his sausage too, will definitely be getting our fish and chippy (or sausages lol) tea from you again, keep up the good work xx

The best quality chunky cod you can get, matched with fresh chips - all cooked to order; always enjoy our Saturday night treat at Surf Bay, Westward Ho! Great friendly service from Kate and the team and very reasonable priced. Keep up the good work!

My daughter and I had our first fish and chips this evening. The fish was the best I have had! Well cooked batter and lovely white cod. Lovely friendly service too! A****

Lovely cod, really nice batter - not too greasy - and the chips were good. Mushy peas one of the best I ever tasted. Fantastic service as usual from Kate and her team and a great asset to the community!! Will definitely revisit for another round of fish and chips. Must try!!!

Literally the best fish and chips we have tasted! Stopped off and picked some chips up on Thursday evening. Cannot believe we haven't had them before � everything tasted amazing, especially the cod � and it's fantastic that everything is cooked to order. Highly recommend!!

Kate’s plaice are just amazing. They catered my wedding yesterday and the complements we received about the food were amazing, they were friendly efficient and worked so hard to serve 140 people in just under an hour and a half. You guys should be very proud of yourself for how hard you work, and I would recommend you to anyone. Thank you for taking care of our special evening for us �

Enjoyed good fish & chips & mushy peas last evening at our walking group's skittles evening. Service with a smile and you had already been serving at Londonderry Farm Estate before you moved and parked up at Alwington village hall. An annual event in our calendar! Thank you.

Kate and the gentlemen that was working tonight (friday) was very friendly and generally seemed happy to be working..

I was greated with a warmly welcome, there was a wait on the food - but why wouldnt it be? it was all fresh! well worth the wait..



as for the prices - Its very good

Amazing food, couldn't find anything as nice anywhere and staff are so friendly

Always so friendly and smiley when i finish work and pop over, even remembering my orders now foods great, service is great and good prices!

We hadn't tried the chip van since it became Kate's Plaice so we thought we'd give it a go. The Chips were good and much improved from when it was Prior's Fryers and the beef burger was (I'm told) good as well. The Cod though was disappointing, it was rubbery and greasy with brown oil between the flakes.
