Road Safety
Mr Maywood shares a tragic story in hope to encourage all parents, or older relatives, to help younger ones understand that it only takes a second’s lack of attention or concentration, for a life time’s tragedy.

On Saturday 8th June 13 students and two members of staff met at Tesco Launceston for the latest fundraising adventure. We spent 4 hours there packing customers shopping in return for donations for our forthcoming trip to Uganda. We would like to thank the customers for their generosity; we raised almost £724, which will be spent buying crops, laboratory equipment and text books for the school. We would also like to thank Tesco, Launceston for allowing us this opportunity to raise funds. Thank you also to the students for giving up their time to pack the bags!

Exciting news as the 3G pitch is nearly ready for use!
The required footwear, designed to prolong the pitch’s life and reduce injury to users, can be seen in the picture of the contractors 3G signage.
We can't wait!

Launceston College was happy to help Cornwall Air Ambulance today by providing a landing space for the helicopter whilst medical attention was given at a nearby residential location. A member of College staff provided the "taxi" for the paramedics to the local house.

The College has been taking part in the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race for several years and this year has seen unprecedented success for our students. The race is 125 miles over 4 days and takes place on the Kennet & Avon Canal and the Thames tideway starting at Devizes and finishing under Westminster Bridge London.
It is described as “the toughest endurance race in the world”, and for a boat and crew to complete the whole course is an exceptional achievement. This year ove...r 100, 2 person crews, began the race and all 8 of our crews completed the course, ably assisted by support crews made up of friends and family. We had 3 crews finish in the top 15 junior boats one of our team of 3 boats came 3rd in the team event.
Students train all year for the event and enter the build-up series, known as the Waterside series. After finishing the event on Easter Monday some of our students reflected on their achievement
Hannah Davey said “I have achieved what many other people my age haven't done, after last year's cancellation it gave me more motivation to complete the race this year. After this year's race I feel like I may try and compete again next year with the goal of beating this year's time.
Myles Redwood said “After last year’s race being cancelled on the second day, my partner and I had a strong desire to return to training the following year and complete the race we dedicated so much of our time towards. To finally pass under Westminster bridge, after paddling 125 miles from Devizes, was a huge achievement for the both of us. One that I'm sure neither of us, and anyone else who took part, will not forget. Although the race, and all the training involved, is very difficult I would highly recommend the experience to anyone who is considering signing up for the event.
Tom Jewell stated,'I would highly recommend taking this brilliant experience to anyone interested in adventure learning
Congratulations to all our competitors on their fantastic achievements
