We're having a spruce up over the coming weeks with a number of positive changes to improve our facilities for visitors. The tiled floor area in our poolside #swimming changing rooms is set for a deep clean over the next three days. Customer access to the changing room area will be unaffected as the work will be carried out overnight.
Between 15 December - 4 January the sports hall floor is also being restored after being sanded back before new lines are painted and the floor... completely resealed. This will be a welcome improvement for all the #netball #football and #badminton players that use the facility.
New baby changing facilities are also being installed around the centre this week too.
We're grateful for your patience as the new management team at the leisure centre start to make their mark. These changes are the first of many we have planned. Watch this space for more announcements in 2019!

Due to unforeseen circumstances we've had to close our Splash pad today - we hope to be back up and running tomorrow morning from 9.15am. As an alternative to keep the #kids entertained why not pop along to the The Wilson, Cheltenham's art gallery and museum and try out its Free new World of Wonders gallery. https://www.cheltenhammuseum.org.uk/event /wow/

Went to the fun day today and can I say what great value for money!! Just £5 for soooo many activities. Went to the new splash pad too and it was fab! My daughter absolutely loved it-will be using this regularly

User

Visited Splash with my Toddler this morning. We loved it. Fantastic facilities and fantastic fun had in the Splashpad! You couldn't ask for better entertainment at a reasonable price. My daughter loved every second of it.

The only small negative I would add is that it was quite cold in the splashpad itself but perhaps that was because I was early on in the day and it hadn't heated up yet. However that doesn't put me off coming along again in fact I have a couple more trips planned already!

User

Recently visited the splashpad with our 23 month old who absolutely loved it. The water was warm (like a bath) and the floor underneath is soft so ideal for toddlers to play safely. There is a little slide and a number of water jets. I think limiting the number of people per session is great idea as it doesn’t get to crowded and children can enjoy the space. We attended during the summer holidays and didn’t have a problem booking a session at the time we wanted. It cost £5 for a child plus one adult. I think additional adults should be £1 to allow mum and dad/grandma to enjoy with the children. Plenty of changing rooms with space to change little ones and no problems parking for free in the centre car park. Would recommend for toddlers. We will be visiting again.

User

Loved the new Splash Pad , My Godaughter particular loved the slide . I would recommend it to anyone with young children .

I go to L@C for Aikido practice and gym. Few leisure centres are equipped for martial arts so 5 stars to L@C for having judo mats in the Sports Hall (any future plans for a dedicated, matted martial arts room?) as well as for a great gym. The gym has an excellent range of Precor equipment, including my favourite dual weight stack cable upper body Icarian machines and EFX elliptical trainers plus Concept rowers. The upper floor has big windows with natural light. The professional gym team creates a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all.

User

Get facility with plenty of courses going on. Soft play on Friday is great and new splash area is good however, maybe one or two c on the cool side for little ones.

User

We had a great time at the family fun day today, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, there was loads to do and it was great value for money. The new splashpad is brilliant my 2 year old son loved it.

The only drawback for me was the changing rooms which could do with a good scrub!

User

The splash pad is fab for the kids. There was plenty for them to do and they enjoyed doing lots of splashing!! I do think you should be able to go swimming as well as use the splash pad for the price we paid. We only had 45 mins when we were told at reception we had an hour!?!

User

I think the splash pad is a great addition to the leisure centre a few key points.

* It gets a bit chilly for the adults when you get wet because of the air circulation and not being able to get into the water enough to stay warm.

*It's quite pricey just for use of the splash pad, and if you want to use the swimming pool you are supposed to pay extra for that. Personally I think it needs to be included in the price or at the very most an additional £1 to go for a swim.

*I get the timed slots are because it's new and to make sure it doesn't get crowded but hopefully one day you will consider doing away with timed slots, people will pop in and out of there whilst swimming so shouldn't get crazy busy especially if there is an age limit which I believe there is.

Despite these points id go again, I think the equipment is great and my boy was so excited when he was in there!

User

We came yesterday to the Splashpad and like all of the other adults there at the session thought that it was way to cold! For some reason the air con was on, so for the adults who weren’t in the water fully it was freezing. I heard several complain about it and quite a few left to go in the normal pool (which also wasn’t that warm). Apart from that it’s a lovely little area but definitely worth timing it when there is a normal swim session on so you can enjoy both - although from the above comments I hear that this isn’t supposed to be allowed to happen. If this is the case I wouldn’t use it again unfortunately. Changing rooms also need a good clean!

User

Facilities are good the cleanliness is not , the spectators area floor is filthy needs a brush and mop and each should be done alternate days , changing rooms can be grim too , lots of money spent on refurb great but need to find good cleaners too.

User

Such a shame brought my 13 year old here today for a swim

Unfortunately i was unable to get in the pool myself

So i sat and spectacted the area was absolutely filthy seemed it hadn't seen a clean in a very long time in the end i got up and moved away

Being sat there gave me a good view of everything

The pool was designated to swim lanes and the diving pool wasn't open which was a shame considering what i payed for him to b able to swim in less than a qaurter of the pool

Just such a shame

User

I’ve used the swimming area of your pool for many years from combing with school and family to coming myself, and with my daughter, until which is never had an issue. I found the teaching pool hard for a little one who can’t stand in it and wants to splash but hates the ring floats. And the baby changing areas are small and not enough. Then the times for the swimming at a year old class with lunch or nap times so we’re useless. I was really excited about your new splash pad. Perfect for my daughter but yet at almost 2 years old within 20 minutes she was shivering and had to take her out. Cold water and cold air for little ones not ideal. I also enquirer about swimming lessons got no help from staff at reception just told to look online to find out that you do different ages on different days (instead of moving up to a different pool area or time slot on the same day) so we can’t attend. I’m afraid I don’t think I’ll be back despite having considered joining the gym I don’t think I will.

User

I've just tried to renew my annual membership at the centre to take advantage of the 12 months for the price of 9 offer you're advertising. Was offered a price of £294, which is not 3 months free off an annual memberships costing £330 - should be £247.50.

Your customer services team weren't able to help as the correct price is not an option in your system, and no manager was available to talk to me about it. Why are you advertising discounts that your customer services team can't sell?

User

Absolutely awful that during half term you have the diving boards closed in the morning! And just the shallow end of the main pool open for public swim! What a boring leisure Centre! Where’s the fun sessions for kids? So much for tackling an every growing obesity rate! There’s hardly anything for the kids during half term, during the week with regards to swimming!!

User

Went to pool today at approx 11.30am asked for 3 child 2 adults. Go to changing rooms which where absolutely filthy. Get to the pool to find we can only access the big pool which had the boon up leaving me to try and let my 6 year old nephew swim in water twice his height. I would of thought some mention of this would be made when purchasing child tickets. Also the diving board we where told would open at 12 after asking and then when we queried again was told 1pm leaving the eldest 2 disappointed.

User

Took our daughter swimming yesterday in the teaching pool. The chlorine was horrendous and clearly at unsafe levels! I didn’t even put my head under water and my eyes were stinging. There were children all around us coughing and spluttering. I used to swim in the main pool a few years ago with the swimming club and the chlorine is still clearly a major issue. I went to reception after our swim and asked that the strength of the chlorine was reported to the duty manager only to be met with blank faces by the staff on reception.

User

I have been a regular visitor over many years but today i think will be the end, i think they have actually lost the plot!

To find used, bloody tampons inside the baby changers was the final straw!! If my baby had got hold of that i would hate to think of my actions!!

Alongside work men trudging filth in and out of the wet floored changing room, no toilets apart from in the public areas, open access to workers tools and bin bags covering dangerous obstacles. As well as the mouldy speakers, filthy changing room walls etc etc. Leisure at Cheltenham, you should be ashamed of yourself!!!

User

During this work they have on they have not catered for people with a disability .... they have put work stuff on the disabled parking and there is NO WHERE to change if u have a disability !! Ridiculous

Absolutely awful that during half term you have the diving boards closed in the morning! And just the shallow end of the main pool open for public swim! What a boring leisure Centre! Where’s the fun sessions for kids? So much for tackling an every growing obesity rate! There’s hardly anything for the kids during half term, during the week with regards to swimming!!
