Final day of Bisexual Awareness week. Our final celeb is Nicola Adams.
Nicola Adams became a household name in 2010, after becoming the first British female to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing, and the first LGBT person to win an Olympic boxing gold.
In 2012 she topped the Independent on Sunday Pink List of most influential LGBT figures in Britain.... She told Marie Claire: “I worried about how everyone would react, so I used to say I was single, rather than say I was with a girl. I felt like I was lying all the time. I didn’t like living like that so, in the end, I thought, ‘Well, this is who I am. It’s not as if I can stop it.’
However, she added: “[One] label that has been attached to me is ‘bisexual’, although I would rather be just a person and not be categorised.”
Other notable bisexual celebs are Pam St Clements, Alan Cummings, Ronnie Kray (rumoured both twins were Bi).

This week 20th-26th September is Bisexual Awareness week. To celebrate we will be posting each day about famous bisexual celebrities.
To start off is American singer Billie Joe Armstrong who is the lead singer of Green Day.
Armstrong came out in 1995 in an interview with The Advocate, "I think I've always been bisexual. I mean, it's something that I've always been interested in. I think people are born bisexual, and it's just that our parents and society kind of veer us off i...nto this feeling of 'Oh, I can't.' They say it's taboo. It's ingrained in our heads that it's bad, when it's not bad at all. It's a very beautiful thing."

Hey Guys, we have received another message about some more great causes for you all to get involved with.
I’d like to introduce myself and the project that I’m running through Age UK IW. Age UK is for anyone over the age of 50, which may surprise you! There are a range of services available but I’m wanting to get the word out about my project and get it as far into the community as possible. The LGBT project is focused on hate crime and domestic abuse but will also provide s...ome social events and opportunities. This project offers impartial and confidential information and advice on hate crime and domestic abuse. We can offer support throughout criminal justice proceedings and have excellent links with the Police and other organisations to ensure that you are informed and supported in a client centred way. There are a range of services that Age UK IW offer, and can tailor support packages to your individual need. We can help you report hate crimes and get appropriate support to help you feel safe and secure. I am developing a sustainable and thriving social network across the island with a range of activities and events to cater for everyone’s interests. From confidential drop ins and support groups in a safe environment to more social events across the wider community. We have an open access drop in on the first Wednesday of the month between 10-12 at the Age UK IW building – 147 High Street Newport. There are upcoming social events which will be advertised shortly. If you have any ideas or suggestions as to how you would like to see this project evolve or would like to get involved either as a volunteer or using the service please get in touch. If you could share, forward or copy and paste this message with as many people as possible I would be very grateful. You never know who could benefit from this project. I can be contacted via Email: Anna.murray@ageukiw.org.uk Telephone: 01983 525282 Or through our facebook page: www.facebook.com/AgeUKIWlgbt
