Paines Plough built Roundabout because they’re passionate about new plays and want as many people as possible to be able to see them.

You might find it in a churchyard in Eccles, on a bowling green in Kendal, on Margate seafront, by a lake in Poole Park, on Marsh Farm estate in Luton, on campus in Lincoln and it's next stop is the Pavilion Dance Terrace in Bournemouth Gardens.

Arena Theatre are back at Lighthouse Poole Wednesday 19 - Saturday 22 September, kicking off our Studio Drama season with Martin McDonagh classic, The Beauty Queen of Leenane.
Set in the mountains of Connemara, County Galway,The Beauty Queen of Leenane tells the darkly comic tale of Maureen Folan, a plain and lonely woman in her early forties, and Mag her manipulative ageing mother whose interference in Maureen's first and potentially last loving relationship, sets in motion a train of events that is as gothically funny as it is horrific.

User

Went to the lighthouse last night to see the Elvis tribute. Fantastic , the sound was great , staff friendly. Reception, bar etc, all the areas were clean and welcoming.

Comfortable seats and a good view with reasonable prices.

Atmosphere in centre was excellent.

User

Went to see this at the weekend, it is a fun packed sing-a long spectacular, lavish sets, dances and costumes and two of the ugliest sisters you will ever lay your eyes on! The story is told by both, a very funny Buttons and quite possibly the Fairest Godmother in all of Pantoland (Lucy Kay) with a voice so pure even the birds and foragers in the Enchanted forest fell silent in awe, she weaves her magic over the troubles of Cinders (played perfectly by Lucy -Jane Quinlan) to ensure she gets to the Ball. There is audience participation and the legend that is Richard Gibson ( Herr Flick from ALLO ALLO) backed up with the Prince his sidekick and a dance ensemble that almost stole the limelight from undoubtedly the stars of the show in the minds of the younger members of the audience; the real live ponies !

User

Went to see The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. What a FANTASTIC performance...loved every second of it and was definitely left wanting more (in a good way). Would definitely recommend he play and the Lighthouse!! 😊

User

Went to see Cinderella with my sister on Saturday how magical it was the show was amazing we were supporting Lucy Kay she was brilliant as the fairy godmother her voice brings the show together and Lucy who plays Cinderella she was also good and we loved the ponies on stage il defo be coming back to see it again also if you haven’t booked go and see it it’s a must see you will enjoy yourself and you will be laughing

User

Went to see Cinderella on Christmas eve , had the best time from beginning to end I never stopped laughing.

The entire cast and orchestra were were amazing. Special praise to fairy godmother

Lucy kay hilariously funny and what a voice!!

Only wish I could have gone again couldn't get enough of it, well done to you all.

User

Watched an fantastic show performed by the London Studio Centre, Jazz Dance Company. “Decades” Absolutely loved it! Love the Lighthouse... Great venue! Friendly staff! And well done to Chelcie Hunt for amazing performance!

User

Perfect in every way. Great entertainment for all the family to enjoy together - young, grown-ups & decrepits like myself. Comfortable, intimate venue, charming helpful front of house staff - & then get those ugly sisters!! Best I've seen in a long time. Now looking forward to Cinderella next year, plus great programme of music, theatre, comedians etc. etc. throughout 2018. We are SO LUCKY to have Lighthouse.

User

My 6 year old daughter and I went to see ‘I believe in unicorns’ and everything was excellent. The storyteller was warm and friendly and chatted with the children before and after the show; the set was simple but beautifully and creatively designed and my daughter loved it. I thought the tickets were reasonably priced for this show. I look forward to attending more children’s events.

User

How a local Arts centre should be - contemporary, great facilities, well managed, great acts. Can’t fault the place ... a far cry from the local BIC or Pavilion which could do well to take note of how investment should be made

User

Went to see Fastlove last night. The show itself was excellent, couldn't fault it. 5*'s.

Unfortunately there was not enough bar staff on hand as it was a particularly hot evening and the queues were almost back down the stairs.

Also I don't think there was any air conditioning in the bar area and it got extremely overcrowded.

User

Love the show which was George Michael tribute couldn't fault that but really do need more bar staff couldn't get a drink when we arrived and in the interval was ridiculous need to really sort that one out

User

First visit to this excellent venue, sound was very good as was the tenor singer.

Sat at the back and listened to staff behind in and out of doors.

Staff in bar very friendly and seating comfortable, we will return.

User

Went to see “you win again” Bee Gees tribute band. A story lead trio through their life and sings they sang and wrote for others. Unfortunately the first half was disappointing due to the fact that in row 2 we couldn’t hear a thing being sung! A word at half time with the sound team sorted that out and the rest was brilliant.

User

We were here watching Cinderella. The show was fab we were there last year! All the actors and actresses were amazing!

Unfortunately our experience was dampened by the grumpy Stewards. I understand you can’t film the show but when they are shining light from the other side of the room to get someone’s attention it was distracting! They looked like they were working on her majesty secret mission! Ruined that part of the show for me. Please remember to discreetly tell people off and not ruin the show for all the others who are obeying the rules!!!

User

Was there yesterday for a Graduation and we had to arrive early 8am and the cafe wasn't open until 10am now we travelled along with many a fare distance so you would have thought that could of opened early

User

Saw Les Musicals. Good show but far too short. 45 minutes each way does not a good show make! Started 7.30 and was finished at 9.30! Too much Jonathan and not enough Rydhian. Theatre ok, plenty of leg room, but as usual massive q for the ladies. When will theatres get that right?

User

Went to the Last Night of the Christmas proms (sat in the balcony, good view). In the first half we were glad when the singers were drowned out by the orchestra. We weren’t over enthralled either with the first half programme. The sound in the second half wasn’t much better. Very disappointed. We always enjoy the BSO classical concerts.

User

I normally love panto at the lighthouse but I think they have made the prices to high the tickets are way over priced we wanted to take our 2 year old and just for her online would of been £25 which is mental and no family price tickets It's even more expensive than Bournemouth.

User

Miserable staff under too much pressure selling the food. Food was of very poor quality and very overpriced. Burger from McDonald’s would have been better for a fraction of the cost. £17 for a bottle of wine that was like vinegar. I enjoyed the Rumours of Fleetwood Mac but corner-cutting at the venue will just drive people away. Next time I will eat and have a drink elsewhere and arrive just for the show. I saw some of the other food options and they also looked horrible. By being greedy this venue will simply drive customers away. The friends I attended with said that the food was much better last time. How it’s possible to mess up a burger and fries I do not know.
