Egg Entrepreneur a fun business venture for children (and adults)
Starting an egg production business can teach youngster how to manage money as well as taking responsibility for looking after animals. What a lovely place to visit. My grandson of nearly 2 loves all the animals and the running around from one area to another. The facilities are so thoughtful. I discovered a full working disabled bathroom, with hoist and padded bed. Fantastic, so every body can enjoy a day out. Can't fault anything. Brilliant.

User

Went with my grown up daughter 23, and my 3 granddaughters 9,8,&4 . They all loved the afternoon, have been previously but never get bored. Getting hands on with all the animals is great fun.

User

We were so happy to have found this Farm on a mini break to the New Forest! So much variety and lots to keep the kids entertained all day! We wish this was on our doorstep as we’d be there most weekends! Thoroughly enjoyed it and lovely staff too! Thank you.

User

We visited longdown with my son's school. Not sure who enjoyed it the most us adults or the children! Farmer Brian is awesome at keeping all the kiddies attention and made the learning so much fun. My sons even come home pretending to be farmer Brian. Such a lovely day out. Highly recommend to other schools.

User

We love Longdown- even in the cold or the rain (although prefer it in the sun!) Bought a half year pass last year when my daughter turned one. She absolutely adores the animals so we bought another pass this year and come regularly- I think three times already this season. The staff are great and the farm always clean and the animals well cared for. It helps teach her to be gentle and she loves the interaction that’s available :-) thanks

User

We can not recommend Longdown activity farm more highly enough. We have been coming here for the last 10years and our

Family love it.

The staff are amazing... friendly, helpful and informative. Longdown Farm is a proper working farm that offers hands on experience and teaches children and adults alike.

The facilities are great and the new animal handling enclosure is fantastic.

We came today for the Golden Egg Easter egg hunt and despite the rain we had a fantastic day! We left having found a golden egg and purchased some fresh produce from the farm shop! Thank you to Farmer Brian, all the family/staff of Longdown Activity Farm.. you all work so hard! See you soon Harrison and Ollie

We attended a birthday party at the farm yesterday and I was really impressed. Brian was superb at making the birthday girl feel really special and got all the kids involved far more than I had expected with feeding and petting the animals. I was particularly impressed by the level of hygiene promoted at the farm with a black light to check for bacteria before the kids ate. The range of activities to do apart from meeting the animals was wonderful too. Plus the party room has air con. Bliss! We left with my daughter asking if she could have her party there. Thanks all!

User

We arrived at the farm at 3.30pm after a longer than expected lunch in the new forest. We didn’t particularly mind paying the £9.50 entrance fee each as our 17 month old daughter was free anyway. When we got to the reception, the lady informed us that as we were entering later than normal, we could pay a reduced rate of £13.50 for the both of us. Needless to say, my other half was extremely pleased! We had a lovely rest of the afternoon looking at all the animals and feeding the coats and calves. All the staff were so friendly as well! We will definitely be back!

User

The pitchfork and put is amazing so much work and effort has gone into this attraction, also the cafe area is a bit too small and needs updating, also animal handling area is another great attraction for 18 season. Also customer service from staff should be looked into, all and all great farm

User

Our family love this farm, we have been taking my daughter since she was a baby. This year for her 9th Birthday, she went along for the farmers day. Mia had the most amazing day and asked if she could do the farmers day every week.

User

My daughter had her 6th birthday party here at the weekend and her and her friends had an amazing time, holding chicks and guinea pigs, collecting eggs, feeding goats and feeding the kids was a particular highlight. She absolutely loved being ‘farmer Imogen’ for the day. Thank you to Brian and the other staff for making her party so special!

Longdown Dairy Centre is really the most wonderful place to visit for all age groups. The owners and staff ensure that the many children that Variety supports for all sorts of different reasons have the most exciting and memorable time at the centre. Nothing is too much trouble. One of my favourite places to visit. Is fantastic for these very special children (and Variety committee) to be able to feed and cuddle many species of animals. Very highly recommend. An excellent day always. Frances Cornelius. Variety the Childten’s Charity

User

I visited your lovely farm today with my granddaughter whilst visiting my son who is at Southampton uni , we all had a great day and all the staff are lovely and polite , keep up the good work xx

User

I have been to Longdown a few times and everytime we have all had a great time. Both my children love the fact they can be so hands on with the animals. Yesterday we came to the farm and my daughter was taken ill and we had to cut our visit short. The lady on the desk was so lovely and kind and helped us. I just want to say a big thank you to her. We will definitely be back once my little one is well again.

User

I have a season ticket and live on the doorstep so it’s a great place to visit without traveling far. My toddler loves feeding the goats and ducks and making the animal noises to each animal he encounters. Lots to do, little tractors they can sit on and also a small soft play area if the weather isn’t great, but a lovely open play area and picnic benches for when the sun is shining.

I love this place! Yesterday (27/03/18), I along with another family were lucky enough to witness a Pygmy goat giving birth!! Sorry about the rubbish narration, Kate humble I am not!!

I arrived at Longdown Farm this morning ( with my 2 year old son who has had chicken pox and sickness the past week), we were looking forward to a happier time together. When I got out the car I realised I had travelled the 1 hour 15 minute journey all the way from Emsworth and not only forgotten my coat but my purse with all my money. I could cope with being cold but I was just devastated as we had absolutely no money to get in. We walked to the reception feeling so helpless and with no idea of what I thought I was going to do. However, I told the lady my situation and she assured me they would be able to do something. She then helped me pay my entry fee with Apple Pay ( I had never used this before and can’t tell you how relieved and emotional I was when it worked!!!!) We had such a lovely morning around the farm and my son just ADORES feeding the animals their milk. I’ve had one of the worst years of my life with my mum and husband battling cancer and other awful situations worthy of an Eastenders script, and although petty I thought this was going to tip me over the edge!!

No one knows what other people are going through and we can underestimate the power of a kind face, a word or the smallest act of caring which can change someone’s life and turn their day around (enabling them to feed the goats!) I can’t thank you so much Longdown for your patience and kind words today you’ve made us a very happy family

User

Had my sons 4th birthday at Longdown yesterday. All of the children absolutely loved it! Farmer Amy was fab and although my son was really shy to start with she really helped get him out his shell and he was soon bossing everyone around by the end of it. Got up close with all of the animals, being able to do all of the usually activities but on a more personal basis, so you got all of the animals exclusive to your party. Fab party and will definitely recommend! Thank you x

User

Fantastic day out, loads of hands on activities for the children to do, my two (aged 4 and 7) absolutely loved it. The best kids farm we've been to.

User

Brilliant day out. Staff really friendly and the interaction with the animals is fantastic. Lovely family day. Thanks so much for happy memories. We brought our children here 20 odd years ago, now the grandchildren have visited and love it.
