Georgina Akers-Spencer (Great-Granddaughter of Francis Elliott AKERS) shares a birthday with a historical Lydiard House Resident (and spent part of her childhood with the same surname, she was known as Georgina Spencer in the 80s and 90s). Lady Diana Spencer was born on March 24th 1735, Georgina was born on the same date......but some years later!
Lady Diana Spencer of the 1700ŌĆÖs was an artist well known for a drawing of her friend and cousin Lady Georgiana Spencer (who was a good friend of Marie-Antoinette), Georgiana Spencer was famed for her beauty, sense of style, her political campaigning, as well as her love of gambling. She gathered around her a large salon of literary and political figures.

The Love Lydiard Trust is a partnership of the Lydiard Park staff (who put in the original expression of interest from the start) and the community to take over the management of Lydiard House & Park.
... The Love Lydiard Trust is the only legally valid community group to trigger the moratorium under The Localism Act 2011. It is the only community bid the Akers family support. The Akers family gifted Lydiard House & handed over the Park to the community in 1943.
The Love Lydiard Trust is a genuine community group and truly reflects the interests of the community.

I have been a regular visitor of Lydiard House and Grounds for over 30 years, attended many functions and events there over the years including the fabulous 'Big Arts Day' in 2012 and several Prom nights for The Commonweal School. As a professional photographer I have conducted many photo shoots on the grounds and have the utmost pleasure of returning there next Friday 28th July as official documentary photographer for Gatecrash Theatre's performance of 'Midsummer Night's Dream' by William Shakespeare. As an events venue or as the beautiful house and grounds I can not recommend this location enough.
