Were a young family with an 8 and 3 year old only our 2nd time out in our 80s caravan we stayed 2 nights ..staff really helpful and friendly pool was great for the kids lovely pitch all clean and well looked after we will be back we also done a nice walk 2

User

This was our second time here and we all had another great weekend 😊 loved our lodge and the hot tub, will definitely be back, great area to stay and very friendly staff on site, thank you.

User

The staff are friendly and helpful answering any questions that we needed answering. The park is very clean and tidy and has generous sized pitches for our tent with space next to it for the car.

The bar is beautifully furnished and clean. The outside pool is fantastic in this great weather however the one downfall is that the pool is only open at weekends as it's not English School holidays. Family visiting from Scotland for 10 Days camping were disappointed not to be able to use the pool on a daily basis although the Scottish children are already on holiday. However we were able to make use of the sister campsite Oakdean in St.Leanords but it was a trek to go daily.

User

Great weekend getaway. Accommodation was fantastic. Helpful friendly staff always on hand. Hot tub was the icing on the cake. The surrounding areas are great for a walk or cycle. Would defiantly recommend and we'll be going back again.

User

First visit to merely court and I have got to say this is a lovely well kept and well managed site, the staff are very friendly.

We will definitely come back it's well situated for the likes of Poole and Bournemouth, thank you merely court for our first class stay👍

User

Beautiful lodge. Wouldn’t know that it was doggy frendy. We brought our chocy lab away for a long weekend. Food basket on arrival. Fresh bread to order each morning. Beds made. Towels. Hot tub. Brill. Would recommend to anyone. And doggy frendy as well. Perfect. ( didn’t find any drugs anywhere ) lol.

User

Toilet very clean. Showers always available I think cos more caravans than tents this week - they use their own! Pool area good and water warm. Music playing the in toilet keeps you company at night! Not seen any staff about other than shop and pool. Hence no one to remind thoughtless campers about noise level after 11pm which is a shame. Hubby left his mobile phone in washing up kitchen this morning and sadly no one has handed it in. So much for honest campers code! Hoping it will be handed in to reception by end of day.

This was our first ever experience of towing a touring caravan and spending two nights in such (relatively) small accommodation.

We were nervous, slightly, of the towing challenge and, perhaps more so, of then setting things up upon arrival.

Towing the caravan down there wasn't an issue and both my wife and I took turns at the wheel; me first, then Sue. She was still at the wheel upon arrival and made a good job of reversing into our pitch (helped by the pitch opposite being empty at the time).

We then set about unhitching and setting up.

We may well have fumbled our way through it all successfully without assistance. However, we didn't need to. Within two minutes of starting the process we had a visit from another holiday-maker who asked if we were okay and if we needed any help.

That visit was the first real evidence of how engaging and fun a touring caravan holiday would be. The helpful Yorkshireman guided me through the process, helping with some bits, instructing on others. He apologised if he was being patronising, which he wasn't, and was warm and friendly throughout our brief stay. He loaned us a two way spirit level so we could check how we were sat on the ground (pretty good was the answer) and his wife gave us some tablets to put in the water tank to assist with purification.

The interaction with others on the park, those in motor homes, caravans, trailer tents and 'normal' tents, was fantastic. Everyone was friendly as you walked around, in the pool - well, just everywhere.

The pool is quite basic, L shaped with a rounded chrome looking barrier cutting off the tail of the L. That, smaller, part of the pool was the toddler pool, but also allowed children to play ball games across the railing.

The bar / restaurant is not big, but not small. It only opens from 5:00 p.m., but drinks and snacks can be bought at the connected shop until that time. Most 'campers' probably bring their own food and drink anyway, so these opening times are an issue.

The shop closes at 6:00 p.m. (Monday to Saturday - a little earlier on Sundays) and I was caught out by this. I wanted to buy a sponge ball or tennis ball to play a game of short tennis with my 13 year old son Josh, but was delayed in my walk by talking to a lovely family on a weekend break with their children, who were already talking to my wife, Sue, and daughter, Alex. They were super friendly and shared advice about caravan holidays, as well as the process of buying caravans and (sadly) having them stolen. Their caravan was exceptional; wider and longer than ours and those we had looked at so far, really spacious and looked really comfortable.

I got to the shop 15 minutes after closing time, but took a chance on visiting the bar and asking the barman if he could help me out by getting me a ball from the shop. He happily did so, but then couldn't charge me as I didn't have any cash (was working with ApplePay) and he couldn't ring the tennis ball through his till in the bar. He gave me the ball anyway and I visited the shop on my way out in the morning to pay for it.

Merley Court Holiday Park was clean, well laid out and staffed by friendly, helpful people.

4 stars is, I think, a fair rating. The pool and bar aren't big and they don't have any entertainment for the children (or the adults), although this is available to guests by visits their other nearby parks. That said, you don't need that entertainment as the real benefit of these holidays is the time you spend with your family and the interaction with other families holidaying.

We would definitely return for another visit to Merley Court, given the chance.

We all enjoyed a fantastic few days and would love to thank the staff of Shorehaven Holidays and the other holiday-makers for helping to make this such a special weekend.

We now need to work out if we can find a way of financing our own caravan and enjoying more of these trips.

User

Lovely park been a few times clean and friendly site just disappointed bar and pool shut only open weekends wouldn't of come if we'd of known that!

User

Lovely long weekend in july hot weather but outside pool not open would pay more per night to have the advertised facilities open all week rather than just weekends other than that all good especially the staff

User

If you are looking at booking a holiday here it is an amazing site, this is our 2nd year coming here but this year they have major Staff issues and not enough life guards! I.e. Pool only open 3 hours today because they can't get a Lifeguard!! Not my problem and this is letting you Business Down , also can't offer breakfast as not enough staff again.

User

Had a great week. Very friendly staff nothing was to much trouble. Hot showers :) clean shower and toilets. Only downs I could find was 1 till at shop which can be busy in the morning, 2 washer machines and 2 dryer for the whole site, the dryers can get very busy I was still sat there after the closing time at 5.30pm and leaving the site onto the roundabout can be a hair raising experience. Found a short cut to the castle trailway which you can cut through the Cobham sport and social club which is a lovely walk and safer than walking down the drive and trying to cross the A31. Thanks for a great week wet week x x

User

Had a great time, exceptionally large tent pitches, great price, swimming pool, very friendly staff. Only reason didn't give five stars is because couldn't adjust shower temperature as no controls to do that and for me they were far too hot to stand underneath, other than that very clean and tidy and great value for money.

User

Great place... Our first visit and will definitely visit again, what is the timescale for it all going over to lodges and no more tourers... Very sad about that..

User

Great Park had everything we needed for the 2 night stay in our campervan obviously out of season but had a great time. Only saw a young lady on reception and she was very helpful. Toilets and showers were clean and warm and will be back next year.

User

Merley Court has in my opinion gone down hill the shower block near the reception are OK but the other shower block is disgusting no room to move and the shower trays definitely need replacing, I think all the money spent on the pub should have been spent improving the touring site

User

Arrived out of season so outdoor pool not open and the restaurant also. On the positive side you are issued with health club passes which are free for a site about 5 miles away. The downside is that the shower blocks need updating. This is the only site I have been to that I did not take a shower.

User

Had a week here kids found drugs in the toilet older kids on site were bullying the young kids.thought toilet were not that clean and toilet and shower in same cubic was not pleasant if some went in before you for just a toilet.pool keeped being closed as kids pooing in it this happened four day in a row so would not let are kids go in at all. Thought it was over priced been to better park for less.

User

Echo earlier comments. Have been coming here for years and it's going down hill fast. No hot water for the first three days of our weeks stay. Didn't turn the heating on for the out door pool.

User
