Merry-go-Round Storytelling is run by Amanda Kane-Smith and specialises in Interactive Storytelling workshops and sessions for children aged 11 and under. Amanda also works as a traditional storyteller, writing and performing stories.

Merry-go-Round Storytelling specialises in Interactive Storytelling workshops for children aged 11 and under and provides workshops for schools, pre-schools and events as well as running weekly parent and carer groups.
Merry-go-Round combines traditional storytelling with music, movement and make-believe to create lively interactive workshops and sessions. A variety of props, puppets and percussion instruments are used to complement themes and stories.
All workshops are devised by Amanda and can be tailored to suit individual settings on request.
I also run Creative Storytelling Workshops for practitioners and teachers at conferences and events

I will be running 2 of my 'The Tiger who came to Tea' Storytelling workshops at The Discovery Centre in Basingstoke (Festival Place) on Saturday 13th October. Times are 1.30pm and 3.00pm, so if you missed them at Mottisfont over the Summer and are a Tiger fan, then I hope to see you there! Join me for an interactive autumnal session full of action songs, dancing and craft.
Children and their grown-ups will have fun joining in with songs and rhymes, and the children will love making their own leaf crown to take away at the end.

Prepare yourself and your little ones for a wickedly spook-tacular family evening this Halloween. Create your own spooky crafts, listen to some ghostly story-telling and marvel at our owls as they put on a beautiful flying display against the backdrop of our moonlit grounds. All children must be accompanied by a full paying adult.
What should I wear? Dressing up is encouraged! We would like to advise visitors that we have a natural countryside setting and sensible footwear an...d appropriate clothing for outdoors are recommended. Most walkways are laid paths; however you may find some natural unevenness within our grounds. This event will be held outside so please come dressed for the weather.

This event commences at 6pm and will finish at 8pm. Ticket includes hot dog or burger, chocolate apple and hot drink (takeaway tea, filter coffee or hot chocolate) – please email info@hawkconservancy.org at least one week in advance of the event to notify us if you have any specific dietary requirements. Let the wild rumpus start! Join me for a fun play in a day and recreate the classic book, 'Where the Wild Things Are'.
This is an exciting introduction to physical theatre with drama, music and movement. Children will love creating Max's adventure to the land where monsters rule!
... There will be a performance to family and friends at the end of the day. Please bring a packed lunch and something to drink.

This is a little way off, but it sells out really quickly. Owl-o-ween is a brilliant family event at the Hawk Conservancy 24th and 26th Oct. I will be doing some spooky storytelling here again this year and there will be children's craft by Kaz Trinder, flying displays, food and lots of spooky goings on!!

Schools Back! And my 'Big Tigers Little Monkeys' sessions begin again on 11th September. I have been running these sessions locally now for for over 10 years!! Don’t forget to book your child’s space at PlayMakers, our new weekly Drama Club for 7-11 year olds.
