JCCC’s commemorations team complete unprecedented levels of dedication during centenary year.
The final burial and rededication services of the year have taken place, but the work doesn’t stop there for the commemorations team within the MOD’s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC), part of Defence Business Services. In fact, the team are equally active between November and March before they travel across the globe ensuring the services currently planned for those who lost their lives during the 2 World Wars are held with the dignity and honour that they rightly deserve, to find out more https://www.gov.uk/…/jcccs-commemoratio ns-team-complete-unp…

Today at 11am on Remembrance Sunday 100 years since the end of the First World War, we remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom. #LestWeForget #Remembrance

Veterans UK and colleagues from our MOD Defence Business Services (DBS) parent organisation gathered this morning for our remembrance service commemorating the First World War Centenary.
We would like to thank all of those who attended and The Willow Garden Project for the use of their poignant display.

Unknown British solder laid to rest 100 years after he was killed during World War 1.
Members of the current day Royal Regiment of Fusiliers formed a bearer party to escort their fallen former comrade into the cemetery within a coffin draped in the union flag.
The service was organised by the MOD’s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre, part of Defence Business Services, who work to identify the 40 plus sets of remains of British personnel found on historical World War 1 ba...ttlefields, and where possible, trace their surviving families.

Defence Minister praises First World War heroes at reburial service...
Ahead of the centenary of the First World War, Defence Minister Tobias Ellwood attended the burial of an unknown British soldier of the Lancashire Fusiliers, alongside current serving members of the Fusiliers. The service was organised by MOD’s Joint Casualty and Compassionate Centre (JCCC, part of Defence Business Services) and held at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Tyne Cot Cemetery, near Ypres, Belgium. Two unknown Australian soldiers who were found alongside their British comrade were also commemorated.

Medals Found...
Are these your medals? Do you know the gentleman these medals belong to?
The owner is Lance corporal ARTHUR GLEW and possibly from the Hexham area. They have been found by a gentleman that would like to re-unite them with the owner.

The more people are aware of the veterans and what we did in the service of the country, the more respect we will get from them.

How many registered and unregistered as of 2017 U.K. veterans are there, anyone know?

Very poor from the Veterans Uk, on the basis for around 11 update calls, I have been told 5 different things by the customer service team which on told me there system was out of date (way out) I have now had to put a complaint in as there just is no communication from them at all and from what reviews I have read this is the norm... There is no time scale on claims, which I think there should be or more communication too, as it seems they just don't care at all, baring in mind that some ex-soldiers have been waiting a along time for the outcome of the claims and the stress of this just does not help one bit. They have had my claim now 5 months, 6 months at the end of this one and still no response as to how fare or even if they need anything else from me or if they have opened my file at all? Now I do understand there is a back log but it seem they have had this backlog for around 4 years, and just using that as an excuse to tell people when they ring up.

Sick to death of excuse after excuse processing my husbands claim - you are placing people under unnecessary strain. You have all esa documentation now stop stalling!

My partner was paralysed from the nipples down in Afghan 2010, he received no rehabilitation due to headley court not having suitable facilities for a veteran who still had his legs, documented in his medical notes, passed to 7 different NHS hospitals and received sub standard care for 5 years until he nearly died. He withdrew from the NHS completely and contacted Birmingham requesting they accept back his care, they said no because he wasn't an amputee. My partner has spent his full compensation money on private health care and alternative therapy in the past 2 years, he's now regained sensation and movement and is saving money for a pair of callipers to help him walk. No help from the MOD of NHS, his complaints are buried in paper work. Be aware, you do not get looked after after injury, discharged asap without adequate care for your future, your contract is useless. Paid your compensation and sent on your way. In my partners case without any rehab, left to die.

I would just like to say a very big thank you to veterans UK, for yet again not calling me back when you told me you would, for telling me since the end of Oct 2017 that you had sent a letter to DWP and that you were waiting for their response, only to find out yesterday that the 808 application had only just been sent, btw I don't care about other veterans that are waiting for 18 years of back pay to their pension.... As I was told yesterday, do you wear this fact of honour or are you trying to tell me I should think myself lucky,

This has had absolutely no effect on my mental health at all, I have slept like a baby, DWP and council asking for updates so they can help with my housing situation... Yes I am being sarcastic

My landlord has been awesome btw, extremely understanding, putting up with the same excuse every month, so very patient for late payments, it's times like this I realise what a great landlord is, thank you A

yet again it seems nothing has changed, this has been going on since April 4th 2017... No wonder veterans feel as if they are beating their heads against a brick wall when they ask for help, so don't bother as they can't take the stress
