Myself, my partner and our 2 children aged 6 and 2 have loved being at Monkey Tree this week. In fact my daughter has been in tears today as she doesn't want to leave! From the moment we arrived all staff have been extremely friendly and helpful. When we were allocated our pitch we tried to set it the way instructed in the guide they give you however our pitch was smaller than those around us so we popped to reception to ask if we could set it a little different in order to fit our tent, awning and car on the pitch. They were really helpful and said to pitch it how we want and they would put a note on the system so nobody would ask us to change it. EHU right next to pitch. Our toilet and shower block was block 3 and there has always been numerous attendants cleaning the toilets at all times apart from overnight which to be honest I wouldn't expect anyone to be cleaning them overnight. Showers were hot and clean. My partner reported some exposed nails on the small boat in the playground to reception and they got maintenance straight on the case which made us feel safe about letting our kids use the play equipment. The kids loved the heated pool although it was busy at times but peak season you would expect that. Entertainment is plentiful always something on for the kids. Playground with ground level trampolines was a huge hit with our kids and the indoor soft play also. It does say on the door that children have to be supervised by an adult in the soft play and security enforced this when a few older kids were in there without an adult asking them to go get a adult if they wanted to play. We had fish and chips in the beach bar whilst the kids played in the sand pit Hadley I think his name was was a cheerful barman in there (he also served us the fish and chips!) We didn't really stay for the most part of evening entertainment as it was really busy and after a full day of exploring the beautiful beaches and what the park has to offer our kids were tired but they did enjoy the arcades before bedtime. In all we have really enjoyed our time here and don't want to go home tomorrow! We will definitely returning and recommending to our family and friends. Thanks to all at Monkey Tree from a happy family!

I performed at Monkey Tree on May bank holiday Sunday, including the daytime beach event,

Well organised with so much to do, all the guests seemed in fabulous spirits and all staff pulled together to make endless memories.

The entertainments team work extremely hard, working every hour god sends to ensure top quality non stop entertainment.

It was a pleasure to perform in both the fun day and in the main venue in the evening.

I look forward to my return and thank Liam and the team for looking after me.

Good work team Monkey Tree!

Great weekend for funky monkeys birthday bash the park is kept clean and tidy the staff our all friendly especially the complex manger and a big shout out to the ents team especially Liam for putting on the rugby over the weekend keep up the good work and catch you soon team harris

User

Been going for many years sometimes four five times a year. The down side is everything is not always open and the summer nites hardly at all which is ashame as it is lovely in there and an alternative to main bar. Site is clean staff are friendly but restaurant on site is far to expensive for what is on the menu

User

Just had a 2 night stay here in our campervan, our first visit (thanks to a Groupon deal). We wanted a quiet break away at off peak. The only sounds we heard were the occasional small plane and a slight road noise but nothing that disturbed our sleep. The shower block with spacious cubicles was very clean with hot water. I hate the push button showers but at least these run for a while in between each push! We ate in the restaurant on our first night and found the food ok, though a bit overpriced! (Over £11 for a cottage pie) but it was a welcome as we were starving when we arrived in the late afternoon. We found a Morrisons supermarket only a 10 minute drive away (with a café) which was very handy, although there is a small shop on the site which sells basics. As we have no small children were didn't need the child friendly facilities. The site seemed clean and tidy with well kept pitches (despite the very heavy rain!), although we had to pitch our awning on a different side. We would return again if we manage to get another weekend off in low season.

User

Supposed to include a continental breakfast but I was really disappointed to have to pay £1 for one cup of tea! I think that you should only pay if you want a second cup of tea. Tables & Menus are really sticky in Restaurant. Children’s Entertainment is too loud if you want to eat in restaurant too.

User

Good week here. Caravan clean and tidy. Lovely grounds and we'll cared for. They upgraded us to water gate from Holywell. Not sure why. Had on suite but no tele in bedroom whereas the Holywell did. Had patio doors to verandah. Only issue is no caravan list of equipment no manuals for fire/cooker/micro etc and feel should be and biggie for us no breadlbins ! They don't see the need.

User

Just left Monkey Tree Campsite (nr Newquay). Booked a few months ago via Groupon offer £79 for 7 nights, services pitch & continental breakfast. Expectations weren’t too high and overall the site was ok and staff lovely, but a few things to be aware of.

1. Serviced pitch only includes EHU - water and waste points are a long way from pitches and not accessible in a vehicle. To upgrade to fully serviced pitch would be an extra £130 per week

2. If you want tea, coffee or juice with your breakfast there is an extra charge

3. The site reviews for toilets/showers are good - however they obviously don’t relate to the toilet/shower block nearest to the Palm area where our allocated pitch was along with others who had booked using the Groupon offer. The block is a disgrace. It smelt the whole time we were their, was unclean and full of spiders and webs. The showers is just a cubicle on main block floor with gully at back which was filthy. When any of the showers were used the water and soap would flow freely between the cubicles and often over the main floor area too. When I raised the issues with reception although they empathised they said management kept promising that the block would be refurbished soon and were unsure what the hold up was.

The washing up area wasn’t much better with 3 out of 6 sinks broken. The black waste area was also filthy.

I that most will agree however cheap the tariff is these are standards are acceptable - I will be passing all info and photos to the site management, but thought I would share in case anyone else had booked using Groupon.

User

Why are you banning dogs that are not on the dangerous dogs list 🤔 shame as we were thinking of staying but as our gentle bull mastiff can’t come we will have to look for another site without such ridiculous rules 🙄

User

Very disappointed in this camp site, we have stayed there for years as couples but were refused last year due to being 3 males (one of us is 40, one 45 and one 50 so not your typical lads group)

They eventually accepted us last year after we explained our ages etc and after our stay informed us that we had behaved very well, no complaints etc so we were welcome to stay again this year and a note would be placed on the system to confirm this.

Having today tried to book for this year to be told there is no record of us staying last year and point blank refusing us.

We are all professionals on the wrong side of 40, very short sighted to lump us in the same category as rowdy teenagers.

Well done monkey tree, due to your discrimination you have lost the custom of a whole group of us who have been staying with you since you were tiny !

User

Stayed in a Holywell static caravan just last week....please don't rely on the photos of the interior of this caravan...if you do you will be in for a disappointment. These vans are grubby, shabby and very dated..Bedrooms are very small, and if you take your cat you won't have room to swing it.There was no entertainment most evenings and the bar was short of a lot of the usual snacks..There was no wifi working, and disabled parking is a long way from the centre of entertainment. If things look too good to be true, it is.

User

If you dont have any issues or complaints then its probably ok here. However if you do have any queries that you need help with you will come up against a brick wall. The duty manager was defensive/rude and confrontational and not willing to help at all.

There are loads of campsites in Cornwall, I would go elsewhere.

User

I have been staying at monkey tree since it was a very basic field with literally a shed where you paid to enter . I came to the Vw shows probably 20 years + ago & I’ve booked most years ever since I’ve watched this site grow from a very pokey little site to what it is today , I’d like to think me spending my hard earned cash over the years & recommending this site to friends & family helped this growth ..so to be told today that I cannot book for the boardmasters surf competition with a couple friends because I am a 40 year old male

Is disgusting & if I was female it would be sexual discrimination !!

User

Disgusting practice, not allowing certain breeds of dogs on site, but the highest bite rate dogs are allowed, its prejudicial and backwards , i hope somone opens a lawsuit for discrimination, as we always see in the news the company looses

User

Disgusting how they can get away with banning certain dogs and not others. Doggy racism at its best..... I can understand banned bred dogs. But if their not on the dangerous dogs list why ban certain breeds

User

Definitely the worst holiday park I've ever been to. They had over charged us and given us a discount card to use onsite, to compensate for the overcharge, which wasn't an issue. The issue was that when we tried to use it, it hadn't been activated so we had to go to reception to sort it. Then the following day it had expired, meaning we had to go back to reception to sort it again. There was a bar onsite that was never open. The takeaway was open Saturday but closed at 21.30 and was closed all day on sunday. Twice we tried to get food but there was nowhere open. There was a big lump of dog poo on our caravan step and out bedroom window wouldn't close properly. Our caravan was right at the side of an a road, which meant we didn't sleep very well. The final straw was when we were in the arcade (at 20.30) we were told they were closing in 10 minutes. The staff there are lovely and a credit to them but the experience and atmosphere was so bad that we left 5 days early.

User

Banning specific breeds, shame on you. I for a be will tell friends and family not to visit.
