Wonderful place and I'm almost glad it's hard to find because it's never over run. One of my favourite places to spend the day especially with a picnic. Serene beauty with historical atmosphere

Well worth the visit, hidden away these building remains show how life was like for some in the past. Can truly understand why writers have been inspired by this place.

Very pretty overgrown ruins. Perfect place to take pictures

Superb little village. Small businesses which are gems. Great places like Victoria County Park and Weston Shore for walks. Close to Hamble. Friendly people. Overall a great place to go.

Such a hidden place of peace and beauty! It's hidden from view but well worth a visit and take a picnic too . Kids and grown ups will enjoy the day here

I think, as part of the City of Southampton, it has great

Play area's to take the Grandchildren to. The area fronting the Solent is great to watch the Cruise liners departing and arriving.

I loved living here from start, 12 years ago, every thing on your doorstep, from Victoria Country Park to walking along Weston Shore. A wonderful friendly atmosphere about the whole "village"

I love this place, unfortunately older children are ruining it for every one, the police were called yesterday, but an hour later they had not turned up, and the gates had to be shut early, we had come from B'mth with our grandchildren for a picnic, so was very disappointed at leaving early. I think they will have to start charging entry, to preserve this beautiful place, such a shame

Great place to visit - so beautiful and peaceful! Nearby Royal Victoria Park well worth visiting for a walk and a good place to have a picnic! Great burger van usually parked on Weston Road after 5pm - great place to watch the ships entering and leaving Southampton Water!

A lovely place to live and still has the "village feel". Has a lovely library with friendly, helpful staff and recently Katie Mawson Florist opened which is a great asset to the village. A beautiful selection of flowers always available. We also have Victoria Park which is a beautiful place to visit. Overlooking Southampton water and lots of open space for everyone to enjoy. Good beer and food always available at the local Prince Consort pub and a visit to the ruins of Netley Abbey is definitely worth a visit.

User

A lovely Abbey to visit, easy with public transport, trains from Southampton or Portsmouth; and buses to Southampton City Centre. Nice to walk, and have a look at the wonderful monastic buildings.

User

A beautiful hidden gem, the kids loved exploring the remains.

Great ruin to visit.

We drove past the site twice before finding it; the signs were a bit overgrown...

A good glimpse into the past and how some people lived in those days.

Well worth a look if you're passing close by.

User

Good little place although kids were ruining it by climbing all over the scaffolding and up the places they shudnt be and dangling there feet off the walls where they shouldn't be so dangerous and could damage the abbey itself hope they're caught on CCTV a gang of them on bikes yesterday 26th may 2018

An old ruine that Henry knocked about a bit. Well worth a visit,it’s close to the Solent, combine a visit with a walk.

A lovely Sunday having a picnic while being entertained with Jane Austen period dancing and an excerpt from Pride and Pred by the Hamble Players Youth Theatre. Wonderful setting.
