We have some good and some not so good news..... Our Spitti lamb born on Monday sadly wasn’t accepted by his mother, despite our best efforts, she was only interested in her daughter ☹️ However, it didn’t take him long to make friends.... here he is with his best buddy, Burt the British Bulldog! 🐶 💕

We have had another set of twins born, a perfectly marked ewe and ram lamb. It was not a straightforward birth however, and ended in Caesarean section for poor Bella who had ring womb (when the cervix doesn’t dilate properly). Delighted to say that all three are doing very well and the lambs are feeding from Mum 😊

‪.....and to top it all off, we had a film crew with us filming the whole thing this morning, so our Spitti lamb will be a famous little lamb......... 😯‬

And here he is! The extra special lamb that was born today, he is a so-called purebred Valais Blacknose “Spitti” lamb. Spitti refers to his markings (more black than white fleece) and they are an incredibly rare phenomenon. Despite their markings, they can go on to have perfectly marked offspring.
We love this little guy and just hope his mum changes her mind about not wanting to accept him as she’s currently having nothing to do with him, only his twin sister.... 😞 stay tuned!

We welcomed twin lambs this morning, a lovely boy and girl, despite the scanner predicting just a single..... 🐏🐑
This is the ewe lamb, she is a perfectly marked, beautiful lamb, but it’s the boy that is extra, extra special.......

A year ago today two very special lambs were born by C Section to one of our favourite Ewes Zara. She was carrying triplets and sadly one didn’t make it. We called the lambs Bill & Ben and they went as pet lambs to a suitably wonderful home to surprise this lovely little boy for Christmas.... lovely looking back at these memories.... 🐑🐏🐑😊
