Newquay Fishing Trips - Atlantis

Like many other boats we have experienced quite poor fishing over the last week or so, the odd decent trip but on the whole it’s been hard work, but today showed real signs of life again.
I think we might be through the bad patch and looking forward to getting back in amoungst the meat!

As mentioned before we will be running trips through the winter season. With that in mind we have formed a winter league. Any anglers that may be interested please visit our new page for more information. The leagues format means that anyone can be in with a shout of winning, especially the side pots if you don’t fish regularly.

Been tough picking today but still managed pollack, tope, gernard, dogs, pouts, maccys, bream, Huss, cuckoo wrasse, ballan wrasse, congers and a seagull Just goes to show that there’s never a really bad day out of Newquay when we have such a diverse range of species. Fairly sure the jump in tide tomorrow might bring the bite on!

Challenging conditions again today with howling easterly winds but Phil was rewarded with this nice strap Eel. A nice fish considering we were only fishing a local shallow inshore reef. Taken on a poor cod with a muppet attractant and 250lb mono snood.

With heavy easterly winds forecast we decided to take a different approach today and target some of the inshore species. Had a cracking little morning hiding from the wind with flat sea and baking hot sunshine! Could have been anywhere in the world.
Some nice inshore pollack, mackerel, few small cod and finished off drifting for turbot. A lot of smalls that went back but we did manage a couple of legal fish for the pan.... Customers had never fished for flatties before so a good result and a great day had by all

Why would you touch Basa or any other imported crap when you have produce like this on your door step!
Plenty of local commercial boats now supply direct from boat to customer in Newquay and I’m sure other places.
... Support your local fisherman, finshmongers and genuine seafood restaurants that buy local produce and don’t waste your money on sub standard rubbish!
Better off still come out with us and catch it yourself 🎣

First drift of the day And I must say what a beautiful selection of fresh north Cornish meat!

Well today’s tope trip didn’t quite go to plan, just couldn’t find them on the bite and reports from boat and shore seems they were quiet all over! However we had some lovely mixed fishing which made up the day. Black bream, couches bream, ling, plenty pollack to double figures, Huss, smoothound, red gernard, conger to 35lb, just the one tope to 20ish lb and a nice small eyed to 10.12
A cracking day all the same great company plenty of laughs

A real tough afternoon fishing, tope on the ground but not really feeding but therefore spooking everything else. But the boys sat it out and after hooking a few smaller tope Martin was rewarded with this lovely fish tipping in at 35lb

At Present we are experiencing a lot of unsettled weather with a big low pressure sat on top of us that won’t shift. However there looks to be some lighter SW winds mon/ tues
We have a half day trip available Monday 10-2pm and Tuesday I’m putting a full day trip together with a bit of everything, pollack and cod then heading up onto the tope finishing with a bit of breaming
Monday 10-2pm £30pp... Tuesday 9.30-5.30 £55pp

Nice trip today, slow fishing over the slack water but either side of that we had steady pickings of Ray, Conger, Pollack, Dogs, Pouts, Mackerel, Bream and Octopus
