What a great team at this centre, everyone happy and smiling, it's always a pleasure to give an armful at this place... they really do put you at ease and look after you very well... well done everyone concerned!!
Very efficient, polite and friendly staff. All the staff were smiling and happy to discuss all manor of topics. An excellent choice of drinks, biscuits and crisps to help me on my way. Everyone should give up an hour of their lives every few months to help others.
Very efficient and not waiting around for your appointment. Free parking, nice cup of tea and great snacks.
The staff are kept very busy but always remain friendly. You can guarantee some good banter and laughs whilst hooked up to the Machine. Can't rate the staff highly enough. I have now been donating Platelets since 1990 on and off as work and other commitments permitted, but staff always ready to help rearrange appointments as necessary, without complaint.
Staff always so friendly and helpful, they always make you feel at easy with the bubbly personalities, please if you have never donated try it, it makes a difference to thousands of lives I donated my 6th donation Thursday its the best thing I've done xx
Platelets donated again yesterday at the Derriford Centre. Staff there are so lovely and put everyone at ease. Donating is very easy, painless and an hour or so spent out of my day donating which can help those that need it is no brainer in my opinion, as one day it could be someone I love/know that might need either a blood or platelet donation x
Made my 2nd donation yesterday. 1st donation I made the mistake of going unprepared with lack of sleep and hydration and I didn't feel too well . Followed the guidelines yesterday ate a salty snack before hand drank plenty of water and donated the full amount . Felt great no dizziness at all . Staff were all friendly and welcoming. If you can give blood then please do as its painless and rewarding . Plus the nice lady afterwards does a cracking cup of tea and biscuits 👍🏻
Lovely bunch of people. Always make you feel at ease. And always have a laugh and a giggle! And in and out in 30 mins. Free parking for donors and a cup of tea and a biscuit! What more encouragement do you need?!?!?
I visited Derriford blood unit yesterday and I think this is my 278th donation and I keep coming back so they must be doing something right. I do it even at times it sometimes puts me out, as you never know when yourself, family or friends might need it which has happened as well as people you don't even know. They are a good cheerful and very professional team and can take banter which makes everyone enjoy their session. Keep up the good work.
I had a wonderful experience the staff are lovely and so friendly. They make sure you're comfortable and feeling well during and after giving blood. You'll also be given a drink and some food afterwards to make sure you don't feel poorly after.
Would encourage people to give blood as it is only 10minutes of your day, and you get a feeling of knowing your blood is being used to save someone else life potentially. :) xx
I donated for the second time yesterday. I had wanted to donate for years and put it off because I was too nervous, I don't particularly like needles and I have a very low pain threshold but from the moment I arrived all of the staff there were very friendly and explained everything to me and put my mind at ease. I wish I had started donating years ago as there was nothing to worry about at all. Thank you to all of the team at the Derriford centre. Xx

First time I have donated since May last year. Felt good to donate a pint of the finest. The staff are always very friendly and happy to chat to you while you are filling the pouch. Hopefully a few more pints will be donated this year.
Amazing centre. Visited this morning with a very inquisitive 6 year old in tow. Nothing was too much trouble for nurse Trish and receptionist Mandy. Trish even had Thomas as her helper during mine and my husband's donations, explaining and showing him everything and even took him to show him where the bags were sealed. He hasn't stopped talking about his experience all day, telling his siblings all about blood donation and how lovely the ladies were to him. Thank you again ladies ��

All the staff are brilliant and really look after you from the moment you arrive. Apart from when the needle goes in, the whole process is completely painless. Everyone who can, should sign up and become a blood donor. You never know if/when you might be on the receiving end of a blood donation
3rd donation to date and already booked the next one! Amazing staff, very friendly and attentive. Half an hour from start to end of my cup of tea- worthwhile if you can!!
21st donation just been given. The fact there was some lovely lads to look at (who were also donating) was a bonus!! Think it's the longest I've ever spent there�! Thanks as always derriford hospital blood donation centre, you guys and girls give the best service!
I’d never given blood before and was a tad apprehensive,but the staff were welcoming and friendly and made me feel relaxed and comfortable,I’m definitely planning to return in 4 months time and hope to make it a regular thing (still don’t like needles though)
