We're really pleased with the results of this year's National Cancer Patient Experience Survey - cancer patients receiving treatment with us have rated their overall care highly, with an average score of 8.8 out of ten.
Plus, we scored higher than the national average in a number of survey questions. Well done to our cancer team!

We'd like to say thank you to this lovely patient, who wrote a poem about our nurses on Victoria Ward.
When you're feeling rather ill They will cure you with a pill Not an angel, but a nurse who's dressed in blue.
... When your body's racked with pain They will come to you again Not an angel, but a nurse who's dressed in blue.
When you suffer fear and dread You will find them by your bed Not an angel, but a nurse who's dressed in blue.
And when life is ebbing fast They'll stand with you to the last Not an angel, just a nurse who's dressed in blue.
And I've watched you day by day And I really have to say I'm impressed by everything I've seen you do You're not angels, you are nurses dressed in blue.

Would just like to commend and very highly praise the two nurses on the surgical assessment ward that looked after me today. Very professional very organised and nothing was too much trouble. Nursing at its best. They were a credit to the nursing profession. Thank you. Xx

We were on holiday near Ilfracombe and my daughter broke her tibia. The quality of care, concern and professionalism we experienced in A&E, MRI scan, orthopaedic care and the staff in the Caroline Thorpe ward was second to none. My family's gratitude goes to Dr Bresin and tam (a&e), Mr Cove for your magical surgery, and particular thanks to those on the ward: Anita and Theo and the whole team. During an upsetting and painful time, we had no doubt she as in the safest of hands. Well on the road to recovery now. Thank you! The Hembrows

User

Thank you to all at the North Devon hospital for looking after my son Rafe who had a nasty fall on holiday and broke his femur.

To all the nurses on the Caroline Thorpe children’s ward and to David and his colleagues at the fracture clinic.

You gave me and my partner the courage and strength to return home and care for our son for the next 4-6 weeks in a spica cast.

You all gave Rafe and my family the best care and support whilst we were away from home. We thank you again ÔøΩÔøΩ

User

Playing football against Tiverton Town, my goalkeeper suffered a large cut to his chin. We were seen by the triage nurse and he was treated with 30 mins on a Saturday evening. Great amount of compassion and efficiency!

North Devon A&E was excellent, really lovely friendly staff, got me x-rayed and plastered in a short time, thank you.

User

My mother just come out after a double-operation, she so pleased with the team at Lundy Ward and part of the procedures was done in Cheltenham, to be honest the Barnstaple team was fantastic and treated her perfectly.

User

Many thanks to all the lovely staff who looked after me so well in the Gemini Unit at NDDH this morning. I was so nervous I nearly ran for the hills, but I was treated with such kindness and care. You gave me the confidence to see it through. :-)

User

Last Monday one of my students was taken to A&E because she had fallen off her bike and got the brake handle in her thigh and started bleeding abundantly. All the staff were really good, caring and supporting. Having found out that she had pierced her femoral artery, we were immediately taken to Taunton hospital for major surgery.

I'd like to thank everybody (paramedics, nurses, doctors) fir their kind and loving care. My student is recovering well and wishes to say a big Thank you

User

It seems totally wrong to say I loved it but FaceBook gives Me no choice.

I did not want to visit but needed to.

My health at the Hospital is looked after extremely well, the people on duty are friendly courteous and caring.

I only hope Jeremy Hunt gets the sack before he ruins this great Hospital.

Thanks to all concerned.

User

I would really like to say a big thank you to the team who cared for me yesterday whilst I was in the Gemini Suite, especially Dr Cartmell who was fantastic and really listened to my concerns and Deryn, the nurse, who very kindly held my hand throughout the procedure! (hope I didn't squeeze to hard!) If only I had know how accommodating and caring the staff were going to be I would have had no worries at all about the procedure that was carried out. Excellent service!

User

Cannot praise the NDDH family enough.

The compassion that the staff, particularly on Victoria Ward, have shown would make me proud if they were my family. The fact that they have never met my dad before and treat him with dignity, deep deep respect and love is truly humbling.

I cannot put into words how it makes us, as a family, feel. Nor could I reward them enough if I sold everything we owned and gave them the proceeds.

Thank you.

User

Can't speak more highly of them for the excellent care that they have given me, from administrators, nurses, doctors to care assistants! They don't get recognised & praised enough for the outstanding and hard work that they do!

User

The staff are so friendly and happy to help ! Which is just what you need ,when your scared ! Thank you so much !
