Wonderful site with a view you will never tire of over St Mary's Lighthouse.
We've been here before but didn't review it, it's a gem of a site, nice wardens, clean facilities and plenty to see and do, nice walk up to Whitley Bay along the beach footpath and for £5 you can get a Metro pass for the train, travel anywhere on the route and use your ticket for the ferry ride cheap as chips
Very nice site, nice people running it and the most beautiful views. Easy to get a bus to the the city. lots of nice coastal paths for walking the dog
Second trip here and we love it. The views are just amazing and the walking and cycling is superb. Some of the best cycle routes we've been on for the children. The site is clean and tidy although a lot of the pitches are on a slope but easy enough to level up with plenty of chocks! We will definitely be back!
Lovely couple of days away. The staff very friendly and helpful. The pitches look out to sea and have views of St Mary's lighthouse. You can hear the sea especially at night when it's a little quieter. Pitches are all sloping and small but that doesn't spoil your stay. We will be back.
Love this site and visit as often as possible. We have 2 spaniels and the beaches either side of the campsite are great for wearing them out. The Delaval Arms is a great pub just up the road from the site with good food. Best of all is the view over looking the lighthouse.
Just back from our first weekend at this site and enjoyed it so much we're going back again! Such a clean site in a beautiful location and the owners were extremely helpful. Can't recommend this site enough!
It is small.....it is steep pitches...be prepared to jack up....but well worth it for the view....the walks....and we found the Co Op on leaving....will return.....the facilities are all good for a small site....3 showers tells you all!
Have been twice now to this site, the view is stunning and plenty to do in the area. The showers are a bit small but clean and tidy as you would expect. Can highly recommend The Beehive, about a 5 minute drive away, the best steak pie I've ever had, so good we had to go another night.
Fantastic site. Well place to see the seafront all pitches. Peaceful and the crashing of the waves on the shore is so relaxing. The view of St Mary's Lighthouse tops it all.
The only negative is that the pitches are a bit small but that's not a major issue to me.
Fab site. With a great pub at the end of the road. Will definitely be going back. The couple who run in are lovely and welcoming.
Been coming to this site for 12 years now and will carry on with visits. Great site with a fantastic views of the light house. Staff are very friendly and helpful
A site with wonderful sea views. Well looked after and comfortable. However some of the pitches are rather steep for some of the newer 7metre plus outfits and considerable jacking up can be required. My opinion is they are a little too steep.
1st trip this year following several last year! And the year before. Previous and present wardens lovely and friendly. Views and walks spectacular and a real treat to see seals hauled out on the rocks by the lighthouse in summer. Will definitely return again it's a favourite of ours!
This is a busy little site with people coming ang going every day. The views are stunning, looking towards Tyneside to the south, Blythe to the north and St Mary's island and lighthouse within easy walking distance. The wardens keep the site immaculate, with a beautiful display of flowering baskets at the office. The only downside are the facilities which, although always clean and tidy, really could do with an update.
Nothing to complain about lovely and clean site does what it says on the tin ideal base to explore the area toilets lovely and warm and clean
Lovely views, nice well kept small site ideal for touring the area. Very good bus service up and down the coast. Nice beach walk into Seaton Sluice, good area if you have a dog, pub outside site dog friendly & most others in area too.
I could only stay one night, as I turned up without a booking, but what a lovely spot.
The only thing against it is the steep slope getting on and off the pitch, which with a Motorhome on wet grass could be difficult.
I'd certainly come back if in the area again.
Great views lovely and clean site but very disappointed with the motorhome point was on a hill so hubby couldn't get to it very easy was a struggle and stressed him out couldn't empty waste propley due to it being on a hill either
