We had an amazing time last weekend, thank you all for coming along, performing, volunteering and making it such a memorable day!
Together we raised over £3,000 for Oxfam Great Britain, a great amount which will help make a huge difference to lives across the globe.

In amongst multiple Eps and single releases, Lucas has been writing and recording his first album; due for a self-release later this year. As well as gigging, recording and songwriting, Lucas is active on YouTube. Lucas uploads acoustic covers to his channel regularly and has racked up over 300,000 views. Kate and Heather are both part of Propane Records, a salisbury based label giving opportunities to talented young musicians such as these two! Kate is a singer songwriter who can captivate a crowd with just her voice and Ukelele, it shows how much she loves writing her own music as she’s just about to launch her second album - “Save me”! Fellow Uke...lele player Heather will also be performing at Deacons, with a mix of funny and sad, covers and original, you’re sure to hear just then thing for you at our acoustic afternoon! . On to some real rock now, as it’s time to introduce two of the artists playing at the Winchester Gate - it’s King Louie and Mighty Magic Animal! . King Louie did an incredible job supporting Oxjam at #SalisburyPrideUK earlier on the year, and we’re excited to have them back for a longer set! They’re a 4 piece rock band covering such diverse and eclectic artists as T Rex, AC/DC, Busted, The Cult, Avril Lavigne and anything else we can find to get your foot tapping and may be ...your booty wiggling! . It’s their first time for Oxjam, but they are Winni gate regulars! Mighty Magic Animal was formed from the ashes of several bands stretching back from 1996. Distilling elements of punk, rock, grunge and blues riffs to their core elements, combined with foot stomping, head nodding beats and irreverent lyrics. They play raw, loud and loose! . Next up we’re introducing two local rising talents who have been releasing loads of top new music lately; Tudor will be playing at Avon Brewery whilst Mokono will take to the stage at The Winchester Gate! . Some say that creating the impression of eight instruments playing together would require eight humans. But TUDOR only requires two; childhood friends James and Dan from Salisbury. James, a life-long musician wrote, recorded and produced the first EP, ‘Monster Decapitator...’ from his bedroom on his own. Dan, a rock and roll dreamer with the same musical experience as the underwear you’re wearing, picked up the bass and joined TUDOR in 2016. Providing audiences with brawling bass lines, spacious 80s synths and guitar riffs spanning from the relaxed to the ridiculous. . Mokono are a 5 piece band based in Southampton, combining the soulful elements of RnB and funk and the progressiveness of psychedelic rock. Mokono are hitting the city’s music scene hard, having played at venues such as Talking Heads and Heartbreakers, and are excited to release their debut singles ‘Signs’ and ‘Induratize’ later this year. Mokono take inspiration from artists such as Hiatus Kaiyote and Erykah Badu. Mokono’s unique style isguarenteed to bring a little bit of groove to your day. . Our next two wonderful artists have both supported Oxjam events before, it’s Mikelele and Common Confusion! . . Mikelele has developed a comedy and music act from his experience of writing and performing in amateur productions. Mikelele specialises in variety style shows and is developing a series of different acts with the emphasis on humour being the main ingredient. We first saw Mikelele at our open mic night and were instantly impress, he’s lively, energetic and a lot of ...fun! Catch him at Avon Brewery in the evening. . . Common confusion have supported Oxjam Salisbury since the start, and they wow us every time we see them. They are “A beautiful mess. A twisted alibi that is hitting your chest.” They’ll be playing at Deacons as part of the acoustic afternoon! .

Wrapping up the live music At home Salisbury will be Sonny Dewfall and Just Because! . Sonny Dewfall is his real name. He’s the only one in the world. Sonny is a London based singer/songwriter looking to carve a niche for himself by moving away from ethereal, indie-folk and making acoustic music with a harder edge. Sonny’s songwriting is incredibly honest and his guitar parts are a labour of love. Sonny walks in the footsteps of John Martyn and Nick Drake but also worships at... the alters of grunge and punk. His performances are energetic, intense and frequently improvisational. Sonny plays around London, South England and the rest of the world! .
