So jake repaired my 1986 washburn tour 24 telecaster, this guitar has always had problems and i've had it for quite a long time but since jake has worked his magic the guitar has been wonderful to play, i'm so happy that i can play it without all the hickups, cheers dude :)

User

So I happened to ask Jake if he would be happy to have a quick clean-up of my thoroughly disgusting bass one day - next thing I know, it's stunning, polished, grounded properly and fixed inside and outside - up to looking brand new within hours. He even dropped my bass off as I was working round the corner!! This guy is so so so kind, knowledgeable and talented - I cannot recommend him more highly!

User

Quality service, super friendly and approachable guy and absolutely knows what he's on about! My Schecter Ultrabass has never played or sounded so good, and all at an extremely reasonable price! 100% would recommend.

User

Parkhurst Guitar Repairs is the best place to put trust into with your guitars/basses! Jake has set up many of my guitars and they all sound and feel absolutely perfect, honestly can't praise him and his work enough:)

User

My Fender P bass was in quite a bad way after I'd separated the neck from the body by putting my foot into the back of it. The fretboard took a chipping and the fret had removed itself.

I gave it to Jake and he spent some time on it, fitting a new fret into a beautifully repaired chip on the fretboard. It's almost invisible. The neck bolts were modified and now hold the neck so firmly in place. The new tuners needed adjusting to fit but it makes a fantastic difference to holding a tune (I play finger bass quite aggressively). The final set up was outstanding. It's felt perfect and precise more so than it had ever been previously. I'm thoroughly impressed and glad he was recommended to me.

User

Massive attention to detail, really sorted out my guitar to make it last for years to come!

Just three weeks before my debut EP launch at The Talking Heads, the biggest gig of my life, I busted a nut (not a euphemism!).

I had no idea how I could get it fixed quickly enough, thinking I was going to have to send it away. Luckily Tim at Planet Sounds pointed me in Jake's direction. He was extremely accommodating and took into account the urgency of my repair. Not only did he fit a custom nut from bone, he also straightened up my neck and truss rod and set me up with a whole new set of strings.

My acoustic has never sounded better, it was like playing a brand new guitar and on the night, it sounded wonderful and felt so comfortable to play. I have absolutely no complaints, if anything I think for his service and expertise, he isn't charging enough!

Thank you Jake, drinks on me next time we bump into each other.

User

Jakes knowledge of guitars is second to none and that shows with his workmanship. He puts love and time into his jobs. Best around!!!

User

Jake's worked on about 5 of my guitars now, and the result is awesome every time. From wiring pickups into dodgy vintage guitars to a total neck refinish on my 80's Gibson Sonex. In addition to being the cheapest guitar tech in all of the land, Jake always goes above and beyond the call of duty to get a job done to a professional standard. Would recommend to anyone.

User

Jake gave me some cool tips on how to remedy my electric guitar's intonation & action, including which tools to buy for future projects. Sold the guitar to a very happy buyer. As well as being a great musician & guitar technician, Jake is laid back & easy to talk to, with a daft sense of humour, which is a definite bonus. If he was incredibly handsome too, it just wouldnt be fair! Highly recommended.

User

Jake did a great job on my 1963 Fender Telecaster.

It'd been in a cold loft for ten years and the neck had warpage issues.

He brought it back to life + it plays like a dream now.

Cheers!

User

Incredible work, 5 stars is not enough for the work and effort gone through to repair my guitar! Amazing bloke and a cool cat! Would highly recommend to anyone in need!

User

I have been using (and recommending my students & people I know use) jakes guitar repairs service for about the last 18 months, since finding out about his service.

From the battered up vintage squier strat which got restored and can now give just about any fender a run for its money, to the Ibanez that needed some upgrades and setting up to sound and play its best, the work Jake has done has been first rate.

Compared to some luthiers I have dealt with, from music stores, Jake is a knowledgeable and skilled craftsman, but is also approachable, and down to earth.

User

Highly recommended, great service, great job sorting out my p-bass, lovely guy to boot, can't fault!

User

Had my Chapman guitar fitted with new pickups and locking tuners and whole set up. He completed the work with speed and care.

The work is second to none.

Won't be going anywhere else again. Already recommended to my friends.

User

Had a serious problem with the nut slot and bridge on my Epiphone Dot for a while. Jake had it for less than 5 days and when it came back it felt and played like never before! Couldn't recommend his work enough!

User

Had Jake set-up my guitar, and he both did a great job of it and also went out of his way to get it done soon, when I wanted it for. He even helped with it after it was done.

Would definitely use him again.

Cheers Jake.

User

Great service, very friendly, and was able to solve an unexpected problem on my floating tremolo with ease :)

User

Did a great fix on my acoustic that none of the other repair shops would even attempt. That was about 2 years ago and it's still holding strong
