We have lived in Whiteley for 15 years and decided to go for lunch at Parsons (don't think we have ate there for many years ) we both had half a rotisserie chicken with slaw and chips (I swapped mine for mash) ! The food tasted excellent and we definitely be going back

User

The chicken burger that I had was gorgeous and had everything in that I asked for (more importantly it didn’t have the bits I didn’t want!) the fish and chips my husband had was yummy with a melt in the mouth batter. Can’t wait to stay at the Lodge next door and have dinner again there soon 😊

User

Popped in for lunch, managing to get there before the very busy lunchtime rush! Ordered a burger, mac & cheese & a prawn sandwich. My friend said it a lovely sandwich, tasted very fresh & a lovely sauce. Mac & cheese was very tasty served with crusty bread, I didn’t have the optional bacon or chicken. The burger was also really good fresh & hot! Lovely staff who were very attentive.

User

Great pub excellent staff and friendly service would recommend. Carrie one of the managers is always helpful. Ben the GM is always polite and friendly good feel to the pub and very welcoming.

User

We were stopping in the Solent hotel next to the pub and called in for our tea. Food was good and not expensive, good atmosphere and polite and friendly staff

User

This was my first visit to the pub since the recent refurb, and it was lovely..... Nice new fresh decor and quite spacious. Tried one of the Pizzas from the new oven and it was delicious. Only negative was that the ice cream (sundae) was well overpriced as it wasn't really a sundae, more like a couple of scoops with a quiet of cream.....that said I would definately go back for another of those pizzas......😀

User

Popped in for a quick lunch with family. What a lovely spacious pub . Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble . The burgers that we had were very tasty and my son is very difficult to please !! But The Nachos were wow. We had a sharing bowl as a side (so we thought) however it came out in a hot serving skillet there was so much sour cream guacamole and chillies you could have a topping on every tortilla and there was even some left over . Will be returning without a doubt.

User

My family and I enjoyed Mothers Day lunch here yesterday. The roasts were delicious and a full plate was most welcome.

The service was good and a lovely pub which has changed since the last time we popped in for a drink . We will definitely return.

User

Loved what they've done with the place. Looking forward to chatting with Ben and Carrie about the new look. Lots of hotel staff behind the bar so I'm looking forward to the dust settling and the regular team back in action. Well done guys pleased to have you back and see all my old friends

User

Went down for a roast this Sunday. Not as busy as expected but after eating can see why. Beef stringy still not sure what was wrong with Yorkshire pud very dry only way to describe. Have eaten here couple times before but after this visit won't be rushing back in a hurry which is disappointing for us

User

We live locally and I decided to whizz in Sunday afternoon with my little boy for a little lunch. I had the burger and my son had sausage and mash, My burger was quite dry and the bun seemed a bit stale, my sons sausages were obviously deep fried and a bit over cooked. As a child's lunch I would rather them not having the sausages deep fried. The service is very good and the refit is nice, the only downside is the drunk that seems to be there every time I go in, and maybe the staff should stop serving him, he's a bit of an embarrassment to be honest.

User

It was just what you would expect from a noisy pub on a busy Friday evening. Food was OK but the staff were so rushed so it did not all come out at once. Had to start the main meal and the veg followed later. Our waitress was excellent though. Very helpful and friendly. Had to shout at each other over the din and ...why ...oh why ...must pubs these days serve food on weird and whacky things. Two steaks came out on porcelain plates... just as you would wish. What did my haddock, chips, salad and dressing come out on??? ...A metal tray with a piece of paper on it! The paper all soggy with the juice from the dressings and garnish. But it was all in all what you would expect in a pub and the food was well cooked and as I said the waitress was lovely.

User

Hanging kebab is overpriced for the sake of 3 small meatballs on a skewer. Either double the amount of the meatballs or halve the price. £10.50? Really? Saving grace was the staff and the selection of beers and wines. Not the best venue for food.

User

Been twice this week - love the decor and refurb. Menu is varied. Lunch (hot sandwiches and fries ) were nice and came quickly which was good as I popped in on Friday whilst at work. I went back Saturday with my mum and aunt. Food was o.k and waitress really friendly but the food took ages to come from the kitchen which was disappointing . I will try again another time. Maybe for a Sunday lunch

User

Visited yesterday with friends, service very poor, young waitress more interested in talking to colleagues! Came to check everything was ok with our meals but didn't even wait for a response before dashing off! Fish n chips were lovely but gammon too salty!! Had to ask 3 times for the bill.

User

Poor service last night ; long delays at the bar, despite not being overly busy, running out of wine glasses so using branded pint glasses instead for rose wine, on top of overly price small portions of food. Another lost customer!

User

Just can’t manage the Friday lunch demand. Our table of four had one of our meals delivered 30 mins ago and no sign of the others

User

I was with Dan earlier and I'm not at all impressed with the way we were treated.

For those that haven't seen the details we were asked to vacate a table in a non designated area of the bar to allow another group the chance to sit down.

We were more than willing to move until we asked where we should move to, and were told 'literally anywhere else'. There was nowhere else to go other than out the door.

We may have decided to stick around for a bite to eat, but following your decision that another group is more important than us, we decided to go elsewhere.

The businesses in whiteley bring a lot of money into your pub, and I'd recommend that you treat your customers with a little more respect. In future, we'll be taking our business, and our clients "literally anywhere else"

Cheers

Hmmm, difficult to know what to say. Have read many bad reviews about here but as a local and semi regular I have never had an awful time or experience here, just average. But tonight changed that. I feel for the abstract who are overworked and no doubt underpaid for what they put up with. The garden was full of children out of control, running round, screaming. The manager was inside chatting, serving the odd customer but mainly chatting. He was heard by numerous people swearing at a customer. We left early, without eating and were not the only people. Embarrassing to say the least. We took our custom, £80 and tip elsewhere. Suggest someone needs to look at the management urgently.
