We are receiving a lot of queries in regard to sick notes for people in the shielded group. If you are in this group you will receive a letter directly from the NHS which your employer has to accept as a sick note. As a surgery we are unable to issue any sick notes for COVID19, please refer to NHS online for guidance.

We have had some guidance that we are to cancel all depo injections (contraceptive injections) If this is something you have then please get in touch for us to change your depo to the 'pill'. You can do this via Econsult https://www.peartreepractice.co.uk/
Thank you

We have been having some calls of late asking if we are open, as there has been posts on social media that we are closed. We can confirm we are OPEN, we do not encourage you to come in, but our phone lines are available 8am-6.30pm. Thank you

We have been made aware of some inaccurate information circulating regarding special ‘rescue packs’ for patients with pre-existing respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Please do not contact your GP practice for a rescue pack. You should continue to manage your condition in the usual way and if you feel you have symptoms of COVID-19, go to before doing anything else.

The team are here, working hard getting the phones answered as quick as we can, and doing what we can do keep everyone safe.

If you’re thinking of calling your GP practice tomorrow please remember this - 🧐
1. We can’t do prescriptions early or give you more just in case - the pharmacies are struggling already, you dont want the pharmacies to be like the supermarkets.
2. We can’t give you an inhaler even though you had one 5 years ago when you had a bad cough - just in case - I know it’s scary but lots of people really really need these inhalers and if you get one just in case they might not be abl...e to get one that they really need!
3. We cant give you paracetamol on prescription just because you cant buy it over the counter.
4. We can’t advise you whether you should or shouldn’t self isolate if you are at risk, we have 20,000 patients - please follow the guidance I know it’s not perfect but we don’t have anything else we can tell you.
5. If you are due to have a routine appointment and we tell you it’s cancelled, try and understand the unprecedented strain we are trying to get through
Please don’t shout at your GP staff when they can’t do these things because remember we will still make sure you get the medication you NEED and we will still provide the best possible care - over the phone/video or Face to face if absolutely necessary!!
Every single person who sets foot in a healthcare setting from now on, is sadly entering a high risk environment, why would you put yourself at risk?
Remember all NHS staff are doing this to help keep you safe.
PS - Big shout out to all my NHS colleagues - you are amazing!
PPS - Most practices have a really useful website, we do! Please refer to this for assistance.
Finally thank you to all of MY team whose tireless efforts in unprecedented and challenging times are helping to keep 20,000 patients safe! 😘

The situation with Coronavirus is changing very quickly, and we need to be able to communicate with our patients and the local community in a fast and efficient way, and although Facebook doesn’t reach everyone, it is a helpful tool.
Can you help us to get people following us?
🌟 Go to the top of our page... 🌟 Scroll across the top, go to ‘COMMUNITY’ 🌟 Click 'INVITE FRIENDS' 🌟 Select any local friends and family 🌟 Wait 10-15 seconds for the invitations to send you may need to do it twice if you have a large friends list.
Thank you In Advance ❤️

Symptoms
The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:
· new continuous cough and/or
... · high temperature
For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild infection
You do not need to call NHS111 or your GP Surgery to go into self-isolation. If your symptoms worsen during home isolation or are no better after 7 days contact NHS 111 online. If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999

We have noticed our hand sanitiser is being stolen. Please can we ask patients to not take our sanitiser. This is in place to keep our staff and patients less at risk of infection in the practice. Thankyou

Please have a watch of this video with regards to COVID 19

Due to COVID 19 (Coronavirus) we are recommending that all our patients use E-Consult as their first point of contact. This is to reduce the risk of people coming in to contact with infection, whilst enabling us to continue to provide the care people need. E-Consult is a way that a doctor can contact you with advise without seeing you. The link is below https://www.peartreepractice.co.uk/
