Great night at the newly refurbished Pickwick pub last night with singer. Roger 3 toes... resident crooner sang mix of old classics, rat pack and even Barry White. Great night. The staff were polite and friendly. There was a lovely atmosphere . If you are free on a Sunday night and want some live music with your pint check it out.

1 of the most highly amusing and very interesting boozers I've ever visited it's full of life and very cheap beer. A must visit if your ever in Paignton.

This is the only place open late in paignton: the town that’s full of charity shops, coffee shops, grockle clothing outlets specialising in wolf fleeces and a crumbling concrete “shopping centre” that hasn’t got any shops open - but does have a gangster gang of pigeons.

Don’t be put off by the six coppers stood outside, or the two paddy wagons parked out front who just broke up a fight containing five females arguing over who shagged Wayne/Kevin/Dave behind the bus station shelter last Friday.

Don’t be put off by the fact the soles of your shoes disintegrate as you walk around, due to the amount of spilled “red bull” on the floor (I think it’s possibly a different brand, as it turned my pee green).

The toilet suites are a shade of congealed mustard, the door locks are awaiting repair and there’s no toilet roll... this is because Stacey/Tracey/Sharon have used it all after crying over Wayne/Kevin/Dave and they’ve thrown it on the floor. A few sheets are stuck to Stacey/Tracey/Sharon’s shoe, but should come off as soon as they’ve descended the 500 steps back down, or it’ll disintegrate when it touches the carpet.

If you put your arms up on the “dance floor” you can touch the ceiling, making anyone over 5’6” too gigantic to dance and like they belong as an extra in Alice in Wonderland.

What you need to ask for is a Schmager Blomb if you immediately want heart burn.

You need to be 10cm wide and no more to get into the “smoking area” at the front. If you are the size of a Borrower, you can just about fit in.

The door staff make you wait because it’s “one in, one out” and not “one out, one in” so you need get to go in whilst they think of someone to throw out. Please don’t correct them if they say it the wrong way round, you get told you are not funny and to wait even longer.

I think there’s real ale in there, because I saw a group of 70-80 year old men with gigantic red noses, standing/farting/picking out snots, right in the way of the bar and moaning as paralytic women crash into them with their Store Twenty One handbags.

In summary, reasonably priced drinks (even if they give you heartburn), the toilets need some attention because they look like they belong in a nursing home, the carpets need a good clean but the bar staff are hilarious.

3 points for: drinks prices, opening late, soap opera style drama from the punters as entertainment.

The remaining 2 points will be added when: they upgrade the energy drink in there and Vax the carpets

Pickwick pub ..was the old winston pub that got shut up though bad management ..now reopen in a new name.. they trying to get better class of people coming in to it

AT more expensive drinks for the same rubbish they sold to the town drunks that got it shut down.. to be a good pub you need to get your beer up to scratch and not near out of date stuff

User

Great for live sports, also amazing if you only have 3 teeth and love crystal meth

User

Better when it was The Pickwick , which was many years ago, usually if i go in there, on part of a pub cruel, it's in for one and out

User

You can’t polish a turd...but you can roll it in glitter

The manager of this establishment is the vilest, most ignorant man ive ever had the displeasure of meeting! When questioned about overcharging us for our drinks, he told me to f**k off. This gentleman ( a term i use loosely) needs to take a course on customer services!! Disgusting behaviour!!

User

Arrogant rude barman, avoid this place it's the most unwelcoming pub I've ever been in!
