Pinnacle Performance is home to those who want to lose fat, gain muscle and strength or anyone looking to make a serious commitment to their long term health.

We also cater for young and aspiring or experienced athletes who want to improve the physical attributes associated with their sport.

Pinnacle Performance was founded in 2011. Our objective is to provide an elite, industry leading health & fitness /strength & conditioning coaching and consultancy service. We pride ourselves in utilizing our continuing education in sport & exercise science to deliver a measurable service that helps clients understand their goals and needs, providing individualized programming and the coaching necessary to carry out these measures effectively, ensuring success in attaining these goals and far beyond.

We have worked with a variety of individuals from numerous training backgrounds and lifestyles with varying levels of experience, ranging from professional athletes to first time trainees.

Whether you're an existing / prospective client or a general health & fitness enthusiast, this page has been created to encourage interaction with one another and correspondence with us regarding health & fitness and anything related.

Getting started with your New Year diet? Signed up for dry January?
Here are my top tips to make it work for you:
- Make changes that you can stick to long term. Small changes that you can consistently do will add up to big results and prevent yo-yo dieting.
... - Don’t follow the current diet crazes. They’re often unsustainable, which means as soon as you stop doing them you’re more likely to put weight back on.
- Eat balanced meals with plenty of veggies - the key to a successful diet is to stay as full as possible while eating less calories so that you don’t cave and eat that pack of biscuits/box of chocolates/cake
- Carbs are not the enemy. They don’t make you put on weight. Eating more food than you need makes you put on weight. Eat the right amount of calories for your goals and you’ll get results.
- Eat protein with every meal. Balanced meals with a portion of protein in will help you manage your appetite as well as retain your hard earned muscle while you’re dieting.
- Drink plenty of water. People often mistake hunger for thirst. Keep well hydrated and you’ll have better appetite control.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Member Spotlight: Lisa Benton ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Objective ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ... Lisa began training with us earlier in the year. Initially the goal was to just generally feel fitter and better within herself while working towards reducing what had been years of neck, shoulder and back pain. Nutrition was discussed and as someone that had spent a long period of time following the Slimming World style of nutrition, was reluctant at first to work with our nutritionist Sam. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ However after being nudged to simply just have an initial consult, Lisa then chose to embark on an intensive nutrition program with the goal of improving her body composition while increasing her coached sessions with Jamie and Ross to 3 sessions per week. As a result of her new goals her training was adapted accordingly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Outcome ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s fair to say that this process has opened Lisa’s eyes up regarding nutrition, developing a much better understanding and more importantly relationship with food. Over a 12 week period Lisa has achieved the following: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Start Weight: 82.8 kg End Weight: 74.5 kg Start Total Body Fat: 25 kg End Total Body Fat: 18.6 kg Start Visceral Fat: 10 kg End Visceral Fat: 8 kg ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ At the same time continuing to improve her overall strength and fitness even while going through a controlled gradual calorie deficit. As the training progressed, the aches and pains also began to diminish which is very important when looking to gradually increase the intensity of someone’s training. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The most rewarding thing about this process was how quickly her body began to change once she began to expand the range of foods she was consuming rather than being limited to the restraints of a diet culture that so often lead to yo-yo results and mis-guided views on what you really should be eating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What’s next? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A key part of the weight loss process is maintaining what you have achieved, this is something that is often overlooked and a factor why many people often end up back at square one. Lisa will continue to train with an emphasis on increasing her strength while keeping on top of her new found nutritional habits. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Great work Lisa, a fine example of fully applying oneself, making changes for the better!

Great course in osteopathy last weekend. Harmonic technique is a powerful yet gentle technique that I use in acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions including back pain, sport injuries, and in combination with a therapeutic massage and manual therapy. I enclose some pics from the course.

Such a great space with amazing equipment and such a positive vibe. As a female you get put off weight training by crowded and intimidating gyms - Pinnacle is the exact opposite! This converted yacht hanger is so light and airy, with so much space and no shortage of machines which means NO QUEUES! To top it off, the trainers are so knowledgable and approachable - it’s just such a great training atmosphere. � I can’t recommend it enough!
