Everyone at Plank's Dairies would like to wish one of our own a very speedy recovery.On Sunday, Kevin who looks after the Pewsey round and is a vital link in the team at Plank's Dairies was out doing what he loves, which is cycling on his day of rest.Unfortunately this time, Kevin crashed off of his bike and after 5 hours in A&E is now nursing a broken collar bone. Get well soon Kev, we will do our best to look after your round while you recover.

What a glorious sunrise we had here in Wiltshire this morning. Now the mornings are getting lighter and warmer, this becomes the time of year it's becomes a joy to be a milkman. The last few months of dark, cold, wet and worst of all snowy weather are all a distant memory. This has to be the best job in the world all year round, but spring and summer makes things just a little bit easier. It's great to be able to see the wildlife at night ! The resident owls returning to their usual hunting ground, the deer and the lambs in the fields. The countryside bursting back in to life again, the fields of gold. We thank each and everyone one of you, both new and old for your custom and look forward to delivering your milk for many more years to come.

Well the first two days of our latest product, the chocolate, strawberry and banana milkshakes have been a phenomenal success. Demand has almost exceeded supply. So far, all we are hearing is positive comments from those who have tried them which is great to hear. If all goes to plan, very shortly we could be offering 3 delicious flavoured milkshakes, in RECYCLABLE / RETURNABLE GLASS BOTTLES to be delivered direct to your doorstep along with your milk. The flavours are Chocolate / Strawberry and Banana. Just a couple of details to complete with our supplier first. Recently, we have been contacted by people who have asked if we can deliver milk to their elderly relatives and invoice them for payment instead of their parents ! The answer to this question is yes. If you have elderly parents who perhaps struggle to get to the shops and you think they would benefit from the service we offer, to wake up to fresh milk on their doorstep, drop us a message and all can be arranged. Fresh milk on their doorstep, without the money worry. We simply send the invoice to you monthly for payment.

Plank's Dairies would like to wish our very own Boyd Jackson a very happy 50th birthday. Boyd joined us late last summer and has become a very reliable member of our team. His round covers the Bulkington, Seend, Seend Cleeve, Sells Green, Bath Rd through to Nursteed Rd, Stert and finally Etchilhampton area. We hope you have a great day and are enjoying a very well earned holiday.

You may be aware, recently we offered locally sourced duck eggs. Over recent weeks, the ducks stopped laying,so supply became an issue. We have today heard from our supplier at Marr Green Farm at Burbage that the ducks have again started to lay their eggs, so if we wish we could again start offering these delicious eggs to our customers. Before we commit to placing an order, we would like to know if the demand is still there. If you would like to order 6 duck eggs priced at only £1.80, drop me a message here through our Facebook page. If the demand is there, we could have these back in stock as early as next week.

Something that has been happening over recent weeks has been really pleasing to see. Having worked for Planks Dairies for approx 18 years, I've got to know a lot of our customers.Over those years, for one reason or another, we do lose customers, which is something I never like. What is so pleasing is I have seen so many familiar names contacting us to restart their deliveries. All I can say is welcome back and many thanks, we look forward to delivering your milk once again.

An article in one of the national newspapers this weekend. A local milkman comes to the rescue again. While you are asleep and we are delivering your milk, I bet you never realised that we are also keeping an eye on your property. There has been quite a few occasions that a member of the team at Planks has had to call one of the emergency services after coming across a fire, someone who has perhaps become ill, or something that looks suspicious during the early hours. All part of the service from your local milkman.
