We visited on Sunday 2nd July 2017 for lunch for my birthday, me, my Husband, my dad and 2 children were there, the service was excellent, there was a little wait from when we ordered, the food was yummy the children's menu was great value for money and they enjoyed their food, our food was good value for money also, I would recommended Prezzo to my friends and family, we will come again

User

This is my go to restaurant for any celebration meal. Absolutely love it here! Attentive staff, delicious food and great atmosphere.

My husband and I decided to brave taking our 13 month old son out for a family meal for the very first time today. I say brave because he is a picky, messy baby who's also allergic to cows milk and eating out can therefore be tricky. Our waitress was happy, helpful, parient and nothing seemed like too much trouble to her. She was friendly to our son and helped us find food he could safely eat. She also didn't mind the mess we made! She made the whole experience enjoyable rather than stressful for us.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Whiteley Prezzo. Had an amazing meal for my mum's 70th last night. Unfortunately on the way out she had a very nasty fall over one of the stupidly high curbs in the car park and they were fantastic. Bought her a chair water first aid kit and even used their phone to phone the emergency services. Unfortunately she broke her hand and had nasty cuts to face and head but they really couldn't have done enough. Thank you all so much She won't forget this birthday in a hurry x

As a family we love Prezzo and have eaten at your Oxford Street, Southampton branch several times. To celebrate our engagement we decided to go to your Whiteley Village restaurant with family as parking is better. The food was lovely as usual but service was absolutely shocking. We were there for over 3 hours!!!! We were left for long gaps between courses, our table wasn't cleared of glasses once and the only time we could order extra drinks was to flag down a passing waitress. At no point did anyone ask if everything was ok. Has really put me off wanting to come back and put a real dampener on what was supposed to be a special occasion.

User

After a family lunch with my two year old coeliac to Prezzo today I was disappointed to hear that the only starter option she could have was a salad- how many two year olds do you know that would chose a salad as a starter? Particularly when her cousins were enjoying garlic bread. Her face when her salad appeared was heart breaking. Also disappointed to be told we needed to order off of the older children's menu to guarantee gluten free choices. What a lot of food went to waste as she is only two and was eating a portion meant for much older children. When will big companies realise these children do not chose to eat gluten free, it's due to a major medical condition and they would like to have as many menu options as non gluten free children. This attitude to children with coeliac disease on a gluten free diet really puts me off eating out which is something we used to do regularly as a family.

User

Went to Whiteley one last night. Service was very slow and we had to ask where our mains were as we were off to the cinema. I had Penne Arabiatta and it was lacking in taste and paid for extra chicken and got 3 bite size pieces, rip off

User

We went for lunch today for a small lunch. We were seated quickly and served quickly. However when our drinks arrived my husband glass had lipstick on it and wasn't clean from the last person that had drank out of it. Our lunch arrived quickly but mine was like warm. We then waited about 20 minutes for our table robe cleared. The waitress who seen our table needed clearing passed us several times and just looked at us glumly. We asked for the bill which we then arrived another 20 minutes later. When I mentioned I had some money off the bill it then had to be taken away for another 10 minutes to be sorted. It was a shame really none of the staff smiled I felt sorry for them in a way. Wouldn't go back

User

To much went wrong on our visit. First drinks order was wrong, one of our parties did had been forgotten by the kitchen, the second drinks order was wrong and we got charged for it. Mains took an hour. Children's ice cream menu says two scoops but children only got one scoop. My 9 year old highlighted this too the waitress who then brought one more scoop for her but not for the other 3 children. They'd run out of panacotta by the time we came to order dessert but we were still charged for it. The waitress was very quiet and every time she spoke to us we all had to say pardon and then she'd say the same at exactly the same volume. Fortunately we had the kids eat for £1 voucher so the meal was relatively inexpensive which was the only good thing. When I made our disappointment known to the duty manager she didn't seem to care.

Prezzo in Whitley was one of our favourite and regular restaurants to go to as they never disappointed over the years food was always on point and service even better! I haven’t eaten there in a couple of weeks but I wanted to say how disappointed I was, last 2 times I have been there. The staff have mostly changed, the service has fallen standards and the food which never let me down I felt started dropping in quality! Both times I went I asked for penne arrabbiata but with spaghetti instead of pasta, waitress confidently says yes and chefs have always done it in the past and these two times it came to table as penne, 1st time they discounted it second time despite the long wait for our meals they didn’t do anything instead they said they will replace it and considering we waited 45 minutes for it to come I was starving and my son was about to fall asleep at the table we had to eat and go, we had to call waitress over as know one came to check on us for more drinks, if we wanted cheese or pepper etc Our favourite family go to place has let us down!

User

Pasta dish disappointing (could have made better myself) pizza ok. Poor / slow service and wouldn’t go back.

User

A real shame after being recommended Prezzos to take my kids to tea with friends we had not seen in a few years. We went today at 4.30, practically the only people there and initially our drink order was wrong, then our main meal order was wrong, but it was the kids meal so didn't realise til half way through. It took about 45 mins after eating our main meal for our plates to be cleared! With kids this isn't acceptable. I was told Prezzos was good for kids. Not on this occasion! Real shame very disappointed.

User

You expect slower service when busy. I didn’t expect that after a 25 minute wait between starter and main to have a meal put in front of me and while I politely nibble the salad waiting for my wife’s meal to arrive to then have mine taken away with a mumbled “Sorry that’s not yours it’s the table behind”. There then followed another 20 minute wait until our food did arrive. When the fries with pizza topping arrived they looked like they’d been waiting since nice the first meal arrived. Tips blackened and the topping nuked to a solid mass.

User

Went in for my birthday there was six of us plenty of tables available but would not push two tables together! Eventually they pushed two tables of two together the menus arrived and the children's meal choices were tomato pasta and plain pizza!! How disappointing, lids like to be slightly more adventurous. We left and went to chimmychangers and had a fab meal plenty of choice for children of all ages.

User

We love the food at Prezzo but our experience last week was awful. We arrived to a couple of tables booked in, we were promptly forgotten about until we reminded them we were ready to order. It took 15-20mins for drinks and our starter to come out. After this it took a further hour and 10mins for our main meal to come out. We were told 2 chefs didn’t turn up to work and that they were doing the best they can. This I understood until I noticed People inside were getting starters an mains and arrived a long time after us. With a 4 year old to entertain it wasn’t fun! After our food eventually came it was mediocre at best. The management was not good, in fact non existence and thy left the poor waitresses to apologise again and again. We will not be going back!

User

One star is pretty generous, as we actually didn't consume anything, but zero isn't an option. The two of us arrived for our booking at 7pm, by 7.30 we still hadn't even been asked what drinks we would like. It was busy and we were not in a rush, but two other tables nearby arrived after us and had both had drinks orders taken whilst we continued waiting. We therefore walked out and went for a lovely meal at dim t, where we received excellent service and delicious food with no delay, despite not booking. Will be sure to go to a different branch of prezzo when we are brave enough to try again to use our anniversary voucher. Very disappointing visit!

User

Myself and my family visited your branch in Whiteley and I am sad to say that the service we received is not what I would normally expect from you. We quite regularly eat at your Port Solent branch and very rarely have any problems.

There were no issues with the food itself but the service left a great deal to be desired, the male waiter who appeared to be in charge seemed to have great difficulty even managing to smile and be polite, even to the point where my children commented that he 'was not a very happy man'. We had 3 main issues:

1 - when our starters arrived 3 of them were placed on the table whilst the 4th was left with the chefs, instead of immediately going back to get it the waiter mentioned before went and dealt with something else before bringing it to us - this meant our daughter was left waiting for her food.

2 - when our main meals were delivered, by the same waiter previously mentioned, he offered us cheese and then proceeded not to bring us any and serve other tables. After a few minutes we were forced to ask a different waitress to bring us some.

3 - when our plates were collected by a young waitress my husband was quizzed by her as to 'why he hadn't finished his food'. He told her that he was simply full up but was left feeling quite angry at her manner.

All in all it was not a pleasant experience, as mentioned we dine at Prezzo Port Solent quite frequently and rarely have any issues but this has left me reticent to dine with you in the future. When spending £40+ on a family meal I would expect much better service than we received yesterday.

I would be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

User

My recent visit to prezzo was awful. There was a cooked insect which looked like a slug in my starter. After complaining I received no apology from the waitress and all that happened was the starter being taken of the bill, even tho I was not explained this and had to work it out for myself after being handed it. The situation was handled awfully. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else to eat as the sanitary at this prezzo is obviously not a main concern and the food served is not properly checked. I have tried to take this matter up with the management and have received no reply, will not be visiting prezzo again anytime soon.

I visited the Whitley restaurant tonight. I was very disappointed. I reserved a table hoping it would be lovely and out of the way. Instead it was very cramped so we asked to move. Secondly the drinks menu was not provided on our table? To make it even worse the waiter and waitress were both asking what drinks we wanted to order to many times. It made me feel uncomfortable. They asked straight away even after seeing me get the menu from another table myself. I had to make a lot of eye contact and a few blunt comments to finally get my order taken after my meal. I ordered another drink. It wasn't busy there was just two other tables in the restaurant. They had everything they ordered so why did it take 10-15 minutes just to make one drink and send it? I was so close to asking for a refund. I was hoping for an apology as the waiting time was to long but I didn't get one. I nearly told the waitress to take the drink back and just remove it off of the bill. I will not be going back to Whiteley Prezzo again. I wouldn't suggest to anyone to go there either.

Pasta dish disappointing (could have made better myself) pizza ok. Poor / slow service and wouldn’t go back.

Went to Whiteley one last night. Service was very slow and we had to ask where our mains were as we were off to the cinema. I had Penne Arabiatta and it was lacking in taste and paid for extra chicken and got 3 bite size pieces, rip off
