All the cold, rainy runs, the runs with aches and pains and the uplifting group runs too! It‚Äôs all been worth it. So take in the atmosphere, if you are running for a charity then take pride in that too. We‚Äôll be watching out for you! üèÉ‚Äç‚ôÄÔ∏èüèÉü誂Äç‚ôÇÔ∏èüì∫üéâüè Öüëèüèª

✔️ SHOULDER REHAB ✔️ This client has previously suffered recurrent shoulder dislocations and underwent stabilisation surgery to tighten up his shoulder capsule to prevent it from repeatedly popping out. The surgery was a great success and we’re having lots of fun rehabbing his shoulder strength, stability and proprioception. As a semi-pro Surfer he needs to be in top shape for the upcoming surf comps and he’s definitely doing the work! This just goes to show that not all sho...ulder exercises are dull. Thinking outside the box and keeping your patient engaged in the process is where the good stuff happens. 🤙🏻🏄‍♂️ ~ ~ ~ #surfsup #shoulder #shoulderstability #shouldersurgery #rotatorcuffrehab #proprioception #strength #surfer #exeter #devon #sportsphysio #physiotherapy

Huge goals broken down into teeny tiny steps along the way mean you follow a plan that respects where your body is at right now, but also where you’d like to get to eventually. Done is better than perfect, but slow and steady gets you there too. If you keep getting pain, injuries or don’t know how to push past your barriers to get to your best physical self, come and see us. It’s what we do. ✨ ✨ #physio #physiotherapy #exeter #devon

This mostly goes out to all the health care professionals out there who assess/diagnose/treat people who complain about the following symptoms. You MUST NOT ignore them! Also to anyone who reads this post and think the symptoms may apply to them...get checked out! Myelopathy is something we diagnose fairly commonly in my Spinal ESP job but I’ve also picked it up in my private practice a fair few times too. Essentially it is when ageing in you cervical spine (neck, though it ...can occur in your thoracic spine too) narrows the canal that your spinal cord sits in. This causes pressure on the cord and prevents it from working as it should. The spinal cord is not able to regenerate and so any damage to it tends to be permanent. So in order to prevent loss of function the pressure on the cord must be alleviated in the form of an operation. If you assess a patient and they complain of the following then please think 🤔. Could this be myelopathy? - Heavy legged feeling - Clumsy hands or pins & needles in both hands. - Inability to walk at a hurried pace. - Reduced balance. Unsteadiness/stumbling when walking or knocking into things. - A ‘drunken’ legged feeling. - Difficultly in fine motor skills - applying buttons or writing. - Intermittent sharp shooting pain into arms & legs. - Widespread cramping. - Disturbance in bladder & bowel control. - Loss of feeling or pine & needles between your thighs or in your genital area. A full neurological assessment should be carried out ASAP if you have the above symptoms. Any questions just get in touch 👌🏻👍🏻 #activedevon #physiotherapy #myelopathy #cervicalspine #spinehealth #sportsphysio #exeter #devon #monday

Due to a few requests from the amazing people we treat/know/work with…I'm looking at adding a few more dates for more Running Injury Prevention Workshops. The feedback from all four workshops has been fab so I'm happy to keep doing them if the demand is there. Here are some date options... Feel free to ask any questions you may have if you need help deciding if this will be useful for you or not.

What a great first postnatal class today. Learnt loads about looking after my body after birth!

User

Thanks to both Jen and Danielle for getting me ready for the London Marathon. Excellent & friendly service, with very good care and advice. Would highly recommend.

User

Thank you Jen for giving me the confidence to climb and get back to work again!! After dislocating my shoulder for the first time I was feeling pretty worried about my recovery...Jen was really positive and fully on-board with my goals to get back to work and back to climbing and paddling!

Jen provided effective and well explained/demonstrated exercises that made my recovery strong and measurable on a weekly basis. My sessions and recovery were directed and focused towards being able to use my shoulder confidently in a working environment (coasteering and caving) as well as climbing and paddling which has given me confidence and enabled me to trust and use my shoulder again!

Highly recommended.

Thanks again Jen :-)

User

Really Excellent service. I'm not a runner but after a month of running went for a sports massage to rejuvenate my legs and ready for another month. Defiantly be going back soon. Really friendly and professional staff who know their stuff.

User
