Extensive remodelling and renovation of a 1960s house in the Lower Buckland area of Lymington. The house was constructed in 1963 as one of the first four properties built by John McCarthy & Bill Stone (of present-day housebuilder McCarthy & Stone fame).
The house was completely remodelled, with split-level, open-plan living to the ground floor centred around a wood-burning stove. The garage was converted to a home office and utility room, and the energy performance of the ...property was significantly upgraded via PIR insulation and replacement double and triple-glazed windows, with solar control coatings to the due south-facing windows. Underfloor heating was installed at ground floor, operated by Honeywell evohome smart controls.
The kitchen features a marine grade solid stainless steel counter, alongside oak and Corian-faced ply cabinets. The open-tread staircase is constructed from Corian and oak faced-ply, continuing the materiality.
