Ringwood Art Society

About Ringwood Art Society

The Ringwood Art Society was formed in 1968 to provide opportunities for members to extend their knowledge and interest in art generally. Views expressed are personal, not RAS.

Ringwood Art Society Description

RAS meets at Greyfriars Community Centre in Ringwood, on the 3rd Monday of each month, for a demonstration in a variety of different media.
We hold life painting afternoons and workshops in different media during the winter months and we meet to paint on location during the summer.
Our annual summer exhibition is held at Greyfriars during August and we have opportunities during the year to exhibit at other venues.

Cheryl Bruce Australian Watercolour Artist and Tutor
Hi
... I wanted to share with you and your members the details about a watercolour painting retreat at Haven on the Hill in the south west of France (Lalandusse, near Bergerac), which I am the watercolour tutor for. There will be five days of watercolour workshop with accomodation for seven nights and most meals included. We will paint a variety of subject matter in the retreat's lovingly converted barn as well as painting en plein air around the retreat and local towns.
I know that you would have some incredible artists and tutors to chose from locally, nationally and abroad, and I am so honoured to have the opportunity to teach a workshop in France. I wanted to share the information in case you have a noticeboard for your members or capacity to share the information.
It will be just a small personal workshop with a limited number of participants. I have attached an information sheet which has all fo the details, and I would really appreciate any sharing of the workshop information possible.
Wendy and Neville Vokes from Haven on the Hill are great hosts and UK expats themselves. You might have seen them and their search for the retreat and a new lifestyle in France on the show - A New Life in the Sun.
I look forward to hearing from anyone if they have any questions or may be interested in the wrokshop. My work can be seen on my website - www.cherylbrucecreativ. com, facebook - www.facebook.com/cherylbrucecreativ or instagram www.instagram.com/cheryl.bruce.creativ
Thank you, and warm regards,

From: "Chris Radcliffe" To: "membership@ringwoodartsociety. org" Subject: Art Cafe Portugal
14th March, 2019
... Dear Elvira,
I found your name via the Ringwood Art Society website. I really enjoyed looking through the artwork on your site and learning all about the history of your organisation….and congratulations to you all on such a rich programme of art workshops and events…and on reaching your 50th anniversary last year. It really is an inspiration.
We are a small group of expat artists living in the Lisbon region of Portugal and we have set up a facility for groups of artists to come over and join us for an artistic break in the sunshine. In the past year, we’ve worked with several art groups similar to yours, to provide them with everything they need for art courses and field trips and I was thinking we might be able to help you and your members do the same.
I don’t know if this would appeal to you and your members, but if it does, then I would like to have a more in-depth discussion. I’ve attached a PDF brochure for your reference. This is our first brochure, so please let us know what you think, as any feedback would be appreciated.
If after reviewing our brochure and information, you don’t believe that we are the right fit for your organisation we will understand and appreciate the time you took to read this message and look through our brochure. However, if you or your members would like to know more about the Art Cafe, then simply drop me a line and we can arrange a time to discuss in more detail.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,
Christopher Radcliffe
