We’ve been here a few times now, it’s just up the road a bit!

Whether it’s been enjoying the odd sunny day in your beer garden or having a meal out , the service has been brilliant and the experience memorable, A lovely venue with a fantastic atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

User

Went there this evening four adults four children..Arrived a little early for our friends birthday meal , had a cake which this guy said I’ll put it in the cellar to keep it cool even before they opened..When they did open the two ladies behind the bar couldn’t have been anymore welcoming and were so helpful..The food was outstanding and the garden was roomy so the kids were occupied ..A lovely place for family meetings..I highly recommend a visit..We will certainly be back...They made our evening very enjoyable ...Five stars from me...

User

Was there on Friday for lunch. Don’t get to go as often as I used to due to geography, but the food and the service was as excellent as ever. When I think of good food in the UK the Robin Hood is up there at the top of my list. Highly recommended.

User

Visited last month, in the area on a business trip...Lovely environment, amazing food and friendly staff!

User

This was the best meal I've had in ages. Hot plate ,hot food, all fresh veg and amazing as it was so busy with Xmas meals. Bustling busy atmosphere with great service.

User

This is the third time we have had a meal here, the food has always been exceptional! Yesterday was very busy as weather was so good but everything still great. Goats cheese and thyme croquettes delicious and salted caramel creme brulee to die for, there are some tasty ice creams too. Highly recommend it here.

User

Stunning pub. Beautiful food and fantastic service. Really is a lovely pub.

User

My first and definately Not last visit to this lovely pub. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The landlord came out and chatted with us and was really helpful in explaining what was great on the menu. We ordered the pork belly and fish and chips. The food was outstanding. Really tasty and inexpensive for the food you get.

Highly recommend this oub and will be making several visits.

Just turned up Easter Sunday lunchtime, very friendly welcome by bar staff. Was told if we wanted to eat inside it was possible due to an earlier cancellation but we opted to sit outside and enjoyed a few beers and had lunch there too. 2 of us had ploughmans, which was really fresh and tasty and 2 had ciabattas which were also really good. The garden there is really pleasant and it's a great place for children to let off steam and kick a ball about. We will definitely be visiting again very soon.

User

First time visiting and we were very impressed, bar staff were polite and friendly. My nan cant eat certain foods and they said they would be willing to mix and match a meal if required. Food is not the normal precooked chain pub food either. Will return again

User

Fantastic food, fantastic staff, fantastic pub

User

Another excellent meal, need to come back to try more of the menu, very friendly staff.

User

Nice pub with reasonable menu on the board. I had the Thai chicken curry and had to congratuate the chef - its spiciness hit the spot! The sea bream, burger and steak and ale pie went down a storm too. Only 4 stars as we sat in the bar area with people coming and going around us, but we enjoyed our meals very much.

User

Never been disappointed when we have visited Robin Hood always great food and service .

User

I don't even think, no I know they don't deserve even one star after the appalling excuses we were given for the way they run their restaurant.

Their communication with customers and service is disappointing when you hear such good reports about their food, we didn't even get to sit at our table because of this, let alone sample the food. The height of our culinary delight over the course of the time we spent there was a bag of cheese and onion crisps.

Firstly I'd ask politely if you are going to turn tables around and provide a second sitting you communicate clearly with customers when bookings are made. Because of said second sitting, customers should be pre-warned their table is required for a later booking. Common practice in the trade, but apparently here if you book a table you can have it for as long as you wish regardless of the table being reserved for a second sitting. In my experience customers are quite happy with this request, but managing customer expectations seems to be lacking from the skill set of the staff.

Secondly, customers making the later booking should have their expectations managed when their booking is made, but we have clearly established there is no evidence of this skill amongst the staff so not surprising. We were in no way told you could be waiting most of the evening before you would be told where your table is, not shown to your table. I'd like to know how they would have managed their Chef's expectation and probable rude response when our order was placed on the pass potentially a few minutes before the kitchen is due to close. In my experience it doesn't go down well.

In my humble opinion a very disappointing experience had by all, we will not be visiting again and certainly not recommending to family and friends.
