What a great day, even though it was busy! Thank you to the roves team. The young girl in green (can't remember her name, but I think its Emma) who was clearing the tables at lunch time. She was so nice, for such a young lady, so mature. Taking our plates and rubbish, but asking before she took them with a lovely smile. Then she came back and cleaned the highchair, how nice of her, I said I can do that, but she replied 'it's ok honestly I can do it, it's the least I can do, as I want everyone to have a nice day here at Roves Farm. When we have been at Roves Farm before the staff have taken our plates and cups when we wasn't quite finished yet, and never asked. She's such a good girl! Will be back again this half term!

User

We've been to Roves Farm lots of times previously and always absolutely loved it. This was our first visit with a newly diagnosed Coeliac Disease sufferer though & I just wanted to thank you for having so many options for her. A whole separate 'free from' menu plus lots of clearly labelled GF cakes, snacks etc. Amazing!

User

We visited today for Mother’s Day.

We got there and both the children, aged 3, had such a lovely time playing inside and there was ample space to sit etc even though it was super busy!!

We feed and handled the animals and was so lucky to even hold the 2 day old baby goats and the piglets (defiantly the highlight for us all!) and the lady who was in there with us, went above and beyond to make sure the visit was very special for us all.

We then went onto the tractor, this was slightly disappointing . We queued up to be told there was loads of space to have to all squash on, to then be told all the animals were inside, at this point it was too late to get off so we stayed on for the bumpy tractor ride, which was slightly boring for us. If we were aware before hand all the animals were in, we wouldn’t of wasted our time with that, but would suit a tractor mad child and/or adult!

The falconry bit, which was advertised on the Mother’s Day post on fb, was slightly disappointing also. It was inside due to ‘thinking it was going to rain’ which meant it was only holding the owls which the children couldn’t do. So we didn’t really see much of the amazing birds which was the main reason for coming this weekend.

However, we would visit again defiantly but maybe on a summers day to make the most of outside area also!

User

We love Roves so much so that we have got a season ticket! We go every week and sometimes twice! Our 3 year absolutely loves everything about the farm! The play areas indoors and out are fab and the animal interaction is lush!

User

We had such an amazing day my little boy loved every minute of it. We defiantly recommend and we will be back

User

We had a lovely time today. The play areas (both indoor and outdoor) are fantastic and very well maintained. The staff are friendly, approachable and knowledgable and the animals are well cared for and super cute! There are loads of picnic tables provided and plenty to do for a great day out. We will definitely be back!

User

We had a lovely day at Roves, staff were lovely to chat to. Lunch was tasty and well priced, toilets clean and parking good.

Although quite busy, it didn't feel crowded or rushed. It was good to see animals looking happy and contented and not over crowded. We bought some meat in the shop which was also reasonably priced.

User

We are home after a fab camping weekend, we did decide to cut it short due to terrible weather. But the staff did the upmost to keep us all dry, fed and entertained! Hats off to you all and thank you so much! It was our first ever camping trip!!

User

Very good value and the staff are so nice. Highly recommend it. Another really good day today especially the hungry caterpillar tractor ride. No expense spared on the caterpillar costume I see lol!

User

Roves has always been fantastic. Not only do they have brilliant outside and inside facilities (hello sandpits for all weather conditions!) their menu is what always makes our trip so hassle free. Our son has always had multiple allergies making days our often a bit more challenging - particularly when your child is the only one with the packed lunch from home. Roves however, has a GF, DF, SF, EF menu meaning we can turn up any time and feed Eli with no worries. It’s affordable, well organised and always plenty going on in. We have lived in Somerset for two years now but our 4 year old continues to request trips back to Roves during school holidays, which we are more than happy to make! Thank you Roves!!

User

Lovely day out for 18 month old, he loved touching the goats and feeding them and really liked the tractor ride. For his age group - 3 it's great.

Problem when he gets to 3 is you have to pay a full adult price of £9.50 (£9 if you prebook on website) which is pretty steep. Which means I wouldn't be travelling out there once I have to pay that.

So prefect day out for my toddler - 5 star. But once he's 3, 0 stars as can't afford to take him!

Shame Roves Farm don't reply to these reviews - generally seen as a very good customer service trait.

User

I visited Roves farm yesterday with my 3 children and my friend and her 2 children, all ages between 2 and 8. It was the first time I have been since the fire a few years ago. The rebuild is great and it's changed so much. We had a brilliant day. We arrived at 10am and left at 5pm and I'm sure the kids could have stayed longer. The food is really good and great value.

The play areas are fab. When some older children who were not being supervised were walking up the slides while kids were trying to come down, the staff dealt with it immediately.

Really fantastic day, great value and will definitely visit again.

User

Had a great day today. Your staff are fantastic. Every single member of staff was happy and enthusiastic and went out of their way to engage the children. You have a great business. There is SO much to do and it is so well run and thought out. We will definitely be back and recommend you, thank you!

User

Dispite the awful wet weather, we had a lovely time visiting on the first day of the Easter special. We met all the animals, collected eggs from the hen house, held a chick and chased the Easter Bunny. Finished off relaxing with a hot drink in the new seating area of the barn while our son had fun playing on the ride on tractors and slides. Fabulous staff made our day run smoothly.

User

We love Roves Farm - great day out for everyone and lunch is usually great. Only thing I’d avoid is the ham salad - was previously brilliant but since changing to their home cured meat it’s too dry, stringy and tough. Shame, as it was a good choice for my gluten free dad.

User

Roves Farm is one of our favourite places. My son has bonded with so many of the animals. So much to keep him entertained. Loves being outside. Even if it rains it doesn't matter. Most is undercover. Cafe and farm shop are great. You can also take a picnic, which is what I normally do. A little gift shop too. The only thing I would say, is that if we could afford it, we would have loved a membership, but it's £125 for 3 people for 6 months. Which I feel is quite pricey! Other than that we love everything about it. Animal races are fab. 😀

User

Why as an adult did I have to pay around £10, the same as a child, to sit on a bench and watch kiddies playing? Bit of a rip off.

User

A very good day out, only downside is the orange slide that they have in a barn which my boy says hurts to go down as it bad a bit of a bump at the bottom, only a small criticism however, the food is delicious too, highly recommended

User

A good 4-5 hours out. Great cafe, good indoor play area, and a decent outdoor playground (maybe a bit too much for under-7s considering the height of some things and a few worrying 'drops'). It's fantastic how they let you hold some farm animals (beats the zoo experience), there's an entertaining tractor ride with an interactive encounter with Peter Pan in the woods (or "NeverLand") for the kids. Other themed stuff happens throughout the year with the tractor ride, I'm told. Ample parking, too.

My only real negative is the price. £9.50 for a child or adult ticket is too much for what you get. Why aren't kids at a concession price?! Would make more sense to say kids are £5, adults £7 IMO. I'd go again in the year for that price, but you're looking at £30-50 for most families. That's steep. Considering you'll spend 80% of your time in the cafe and play areas, there are cheaper ways to do that around. I would only go once a year, if that, because of the price.

So, dodgy pricing, but one of the better "farm days out for kids" in terms of what's there. Warning: the birds of prey experience will cost you an extra £2.50 each, as they're a separate business. Quite a bit of money altogether if you opt for that, too, which we didn't.
