We popped into sainsburys on Monday morning 21.11.16 I needed to go to the customer service desk as I had a query, there was 2 people serving on the desk and there was couple of us waiting to be served a very nice man came and asked could he help me I explained the query I had and he went out of his way to sort the query and he went above and beyond to make sure we left the store happy ....it wasn't till we were continuing with our shopping that we found out he was the store manager ....well I'd just like to say a massive thank you to this manager and Whitley bay sainsburys is very lucky to be managed by such a lovely bloke

Thank you to Sainsbury at Newstead Drive for inviting Beacon Hill School, Wallsend to do a bag pack on Saturday. We had a great time the staff were friendly and helpful and the customers wonderful to chat to and very generous in their donations. The money we collected will be added to our minibus appeal. I come here every week, always find what I need and more! My favourite supermarket!

I bought a wallet just the other day from your store and used a self-service machine. As this was with other things too, I hadn't noticed it missing until I got home and couldn't find it anywhere. Yesterday I went in exchanging a pair of slippers for my daughter and thought I'd ask on the off chance if the wallet had been handed in. Not only was my slipper exchange quick and easy, I was also given the same wallet without having to pay again. This is not the first time your staff have been incredibly polite, professional and caring. Jolly good job, Sainsbury's! Xxx �

Fantastic pizzas made in store and fab service when we asked for them to be cooked

Went shopping yesterday . Visited the cafe and was greeted with happy staff who were very polite and helpful. Very impressed with the young man on the fish counter who found me exactly what i wanted and was very patient and polite. However the woman on the till not so helpful when putting my shopping through. When i buy chicken and salmon i do not expect to have to ask for the free bag you are entitled to which prevents raw products contaminating other food, and when i do ask i do not expect to be told i have to purchase a 10p bag . Surely this is basic food hygiene that staff should be aware of.

We don't do a lot of shopping at Sainsburys as there isn't a big shop close to us. When we do shop at Sainsburys it's usually very good, but last Friday, when we were at Whitley Bay we called in for look . Among other things we bought some Doughnuts with vanilla custard filling coated in sugar. They were awful. Dry and virtually no filling at all. Hope this is not the usual to expect from Sainsburys. Could not return them as it would take 45 mins to get there.

The staff at Sainsbury's are always so nice. Very accommodating.

The staff are so helpful. But I wish they would use nicer bread for the bacon sandwiches .I use the café once a week . And always look forward to my bacon sandwiches n latte.

Tried to buy a special offer 2 magazine pack but the barcode reader did no recognize it . Rather than sort it out the person called to the till simply decided it could not be sold and walked away with it. Seems modern tech overruled the personal touch, shame. Visited newsagent on way home paid money no problem!!!!!

They’ve taken away the customer service desk! The only thing that Sainsbury’s has above the other 5 supermarkets in the area is excellent customer care........

What is going on!

Just spent £96 in Sainsbury's on my grocery shop. Included was this little sleep suit. I asked for a plastic bag to keep it clean till I got home and was told "They're only for meats etc". I explained that I didn't want a carrier bag, just a small plastic thing to put the babygrow into. "we can't give those out unless for meats etc" she repeated. We always take our own carrier bags, usually about 8 of them. When the lady realised how annoyed I was, she begrudgingly said she could do it "this time". I stopped myself from telling her to stick it where the sun don't shine but I didn't stop myself from complaining to customer services! Did I just say service? Whoops, slip of the tongue! Lynn on Customer Services told me the salesperson should have used her discretion and immediately offered me a bag. She seemed very caring, unlike her colleague on the till!

I do love shopping here but I'm getting increasingly annoyed with the car park. Why can't sainsburys do as other stores have done and allocate the car washing people to one area only. I was asked twice on the way into the store and then I found the washer washing a car that was parked so close to my car that it was ridiculous. He had to move his trolley so I could get in my car with all my shopping. My go elsewhere .

I always shop here and was gutted tonight to find something strange inside these chunky cod fillet fish fingers. can only be described as like the foamy strip of plastic you get on the bottom of a fish or meat carton. Wasn't in all of them so I know it wasn't skin. Which I first glance I thought it was. not impressed

Is it the deliberate intention to run this store down, nUmerous items very low stock or not available during our shop, also noted empty cartons lying about, instead of an Argos it would be. Nice to have a Sainsbury’s, improve or lose a customer!

No fireworks behind counter. Staff unaware where they are stored out back. Absolute shambles! My advice, get them somewhere else!!

My old Sainsbury's in York would save boxes if you asked (to help with moving house). Super disappointing that Monkseaton don't do this anymore!
