Scia Group

SCiA Group is a social enterprise health and social care organisation based in Southampton, Hampshire. It operates across the south coast of England.

SCA Group set up The Quinn Centre to provide NVQs and other training courses for carers in response to a shortage of high quality, affordable training within Southampton.

SCA Group also recruited care staff from EU accession countries to address local shortages of nurses and care workers. It also drew upon a surplus of newly trained dentists in Eastern European countries to set up new dental clinics to meet shortages in NHS dentistry in the south. SCA Trafalgar Dental Services has six dental clinics offering access to NHS dentistry to 45, 000 people in Hampshire, on behalf of NHS Hampshire.

SCA Group set up the former Fenwick community Hospital in Lyndhurst as the Fenwick2 Health and Well-being Centre, following local opposition to the closure of the hospital. Hampshire PCT donated the hospital buildings to SCA Group and Fenwick2 is now run by SCA Group and the Fenwick League of Friends.

Current activities
SCA Group provides research into social enterprises and also helps other third sector organisations to set up social enterprises through its Institute of Social Enterprise, based at the Fenwick2 Health and Well-being Centre.
