Seibukan Goju Karate Uk

The promotion of Yonemoto Ha Goju karate in the UK as passed on by Yonemoto Kiyoshi Sensei of the Seibukan honbu dojo, Tokyo, Japan.

In July 2016 Yonemoto Sensei gave permission for Mike Clark, Kevin Williams, Terry Foster and Carl Regular to use ’Seibukan Goju’ to describe their collective practice of Sensei’s karate.

Over two weeks in Sept /Oct 2016 Yonemoto Sensei checked the teaching being given to ensure fundamentals were being passed onto students correctly. The use of Seibukan Goju Karate UK was subsequently validated by Yonemoto Sensei.

Other students of Yonemoto Sensei in the UK include Dave Morris of the Kyudokan Martial Arts, Daniel Tennent of Tanigawa Ha and Steve Carter of Shizen Karate Do. In South Africa this is Neil Van Zyl and Pietman Faasen of SeikiKan Goju Ryu Karate Do.

It was Chris Clifford Sensei the most senior UK direct student and recipient of Grandmaster Ichikawa's Bubishi tradition that first introduced UK students to his Sempai; Yonemoto Sensei and the Ichikawa Ha legacy. I recognise that all UK students that study within this lineage owe thanks to Chris Sensei for making this possible.
