2020 got off to a gentle start for Sew Nostalgic, although we sold 2 machines in the first week, which was unexpected. Wasn't it difficult to write 2020 the first time...? After the grand sewing room clean-up (which happened on the 4th) I settled down to continue with the navy blue jacket which I started back in May or June I think. I have never seen so much fluff in any machine - let alone a Singer 222k. There were also threads caught up where they shouldn’t be. This machine probably didn’t function the last time she was tried as featherweights were precision built with very little tolerance and therefore easily become bogged down if not kept clean around the bobbin race. Of course, I am a great fan of vintage things so this jacket intrigues me. Apparently worn by Elvis's step-brother, Rick Stanley, in the 1970s (it has his name scrawled in biro on one of its labels). Don't ask me how it came into my hands - it's a long story! I'm listing it on Ebay this evening and we'll see whether collectors think it's worth fighting for! I really have no idea!
