I am the owner of Shimmer N Shine and opened the doors June 2011 and we have since gone from strength to strength. Shimmer was my first Business venture and since then have also opened Shimmer N Shine in Malta and also The Uk Barbers in Malta. I now live in Malta a lovely little island in the sun but still have a huge part in Shimmer N Shine Howdon. ... Qualified in all aspects of Beauty. MEET GINA
I am the Deputy Manager at Shimmer N Shine. I am currently trained in Ear Piercing and Spray Tanning, and am literally just about to start my Beauty Therapy Level 2 at Tyne Met College. Hobbies: I think I’m still 18 and love a good rave ha ha! I’m addicted to Lashes the longer and Fuller the better! My 3 Beautiful Children Shay, Carlo and Luka keep me on my toes.

MEET LISA
I qualified in Level 2 Beauty in 2016 and Level 3 in 2017 at Newcastle College. I also do spray tans and Semi Lashes. Favourite Treatment: I’m really enjoying doing Semi Lashes and so keen to keep improving, I love making people feel great. Hobbies: socializing, Gym and running and of course my 2 beautiful children Sophie and Ryan.

MEET ELLEN:
I qualified in Level 2 Beauty in 2016 and I started to work at Shimmer N Shine in Feb 2017. I am also qualified in spray Tanning, Semi Lashes, Acrylic Nails, Microdermabrasion and Lash Lifting. Favourite Treatment: I love Lashes! And Brows! And the difference Lashes and Brows can make to someone’s face still amazes me. Hobbies: I love socializing, eating ha ha and learning.

Just had semi perm lashes by Zoe I am soso over the moon more than I expected they are fab they are exactly the way I wanted them for every day no more mascara and so natural .i have been really pampered , and so relaxed loved every minute of it thankyou so much shimmer and shine fab salon in ever way xxxxx

Just came back from having my nail and eyebrows done by Janine one very talented lady. I love this place. Everyone so friendly. Made to feel like a friend rather than a customer. My few hours flew by with the giggles and chat. Enjoyed my afternoon so much. Thanks lasses. Xxx

I visited the salon for gel nails and lashes , I am a singer-songwriter and I was visiting the USA for my career and needed my nails to look great however they needed to be short for my guitar. I was so impressed by my beautiful pink nails. My lashes lasted the who time in the USA and I will certainly back. Thanks to all of the girls in the salon who made my visit so enjoyable �

Had lashes & a brow wax & tint done today by Zoe! Love my brows, and lashes are fab! As a therapist myself I find it very hard to fine someone who does it the way I like & Zoe did!. Highly recommended. Very friendly salon I love visiting x

Had gel nails done by kelly a few times over the last 6 months absolutely fantastic ! Great friendly atmosphere and salon 100% recommend !!

Had an amazing spray tan here when I was up for a girls weekend! Was a bit worried at first but following the recommended aftercare advice, the tan developed so nice!! When I am up again I defo will be back x

Had a full set of holographic acrylics done by Janine yesterday and I'm absolutely blown away by her talent.



Although the appointments might take a little longer than expected, it's worth the time as she makes sure you're and she is 100% happy with the outcome of the nails. Some, if not most shops don't really care all that much about how the nails look as long as you're giving them money.



The shop is so friendly and welcoming and I had right giggle while I was there.

Couldn't recommend this enough and now I can't stop looking at my nails! ��

Had a full set of acrylics done today with Ellen, I’m absolutely over the moon with how they look! She really took her time with them, can tell all the girls really care about how your nails look and feel on you.



The salon is friendly and all the girls are chatty and give you a right laugh! They’re all so professional though doing their best to fit clients into their busy schedules - heard Janine going out of her way to help people a few times. Lush ladies I’m honestly so impressed with the service. Really enjoyable experience and will definitely be booking in again! They offer so many different treatments, I will be back to have a massage as a treat after I’ve had my baby boy.

After a bad start with this salon over my wedding nails the owner and Janine were brilliant in sorting out my nails which I got done today

Always get my acrylics and lash extensions done here, almost always they're perfect, the staff are lovely and that's why I keep coming back. But waiting 30 minutes and longer for my appointment is starting to get tedious every time I come in, was in for 3 hours just for acrylic infills with gel one night. Now sat writing this waiting for my appointment (which was for half an hour ago) while the girl supposed to be doing my nails is still in with a client. Going to have to look elsewhere as it's impossible to plan my day off around a nail appointment when I turn up and it takes me an hour longer than it's supposed to.
