We here at the smugglers love dogs! And to that end would love to start promoting our four legged friends with a dog of the month caption. Each winner decided will win a doggy ice cream! Our first winnner is Jerry. An ex explosive sniffer dog from the royal veterinary Corp, having completed 3 tours of Afghanistan, he is one of the most successful dogs the military has ever seen! We hope to see you again soon, the doggy ice cream is on us!

We make a point every time we visit Weymouth to book a table at one of our favourite places for food and drink. We came last night and yet again, wasn’t disappointed!!!... Great location, great food and lovely helpful staff.
Very impressed by the guy who greeted and seated us! Very good food excellent service 😊 definitely going back in the sunshine ☀️
Such a lovely pub. Food always good, staff do utmost to fit you in when busy, which is very often. Beautiful part of Dorset right by the sea.
Popped in for a impromptu drink . What a lovely pub . A very nice & cheerful red haired lady rustled up the most delightful cheeseboard for two . Which I don’t even know was on the menu . We only live in Lytchett Minster next door to one of your other pubs . So we will definitely be popping back for dinner at some point soon. Thank you for going that extra mile and making us feel so welcome ,especially as it was Father’s Day so you were exceptionally busy. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Love this place. Everything about it is just amazing, the decor, the location, the food etc etc. Can’t fault it.
Love this place so much every visit to owermoigne it’s a no brainer where to eat great food and 🍺 roll on June /July oh and what a view from the car park .
Great spot to have a pub, really nice atmosphere. We were there for lunch this bank holiday Sunday and it was packed. Queue was out the door and food was an hour wait, but we could not fault the staff who were working flat out. They were up front about the wait and very friendly. When the food came it looked and tasted great. We returned that evening and it was still busy - very popular and rightly so! 👍
Great Lunch yesterday, food was fab service great and atmosphere a true smugglers pub we will be back
Fantastic place, food was great, only thing that spoiled it was the weather
Currently sat on the garden of this beautiful place, the calm peaceful atmosphere is amazing. We just had food here and I’m unbelievably impressed. Delicious beyond belief. The staff are so polite and helpful. I was served at the till by olly who was very helpful. I work at a bar in Weymouth town centre and anyone asking for a good place to go this is the place I will recommend. 5* given for the hard work put in here.
Could not fault this place , We are on holiday for new year so we booked a table here for 9 plus a pushchair and dog as it was just down the road from us plus they welcome children and dogs , what a lovely pub on the cliff top looking out to sea (well the car is )it was packed out I’m glad I booked ,anyway they showed us to our table and were very helpful as they also thought of us as to where we could put the pushchair as we had corner where it fitted perfect ,the waitress was lovely and very friendly and took our order for drink straight away and our starters , which were here in no time and then took our main meal orders , which also didn’t take long to arrive, the coq au vin was delicious , steak cooked perfect , pie full of meat , and burgers thick , the children also rate all there’s and had a free ice cream in with there meal, not cheap ice cream it was yummy as grandma always gets a spoonful, lol, all in all 5 stars all round we didn’t have dessert as we were all to full so thank you all we had a lovely New Year’s Day afternoon meal xx
Beautiful food...all 3 courses were absolutely delicious...our waiter was very attentive and helpful...amazing scenery and very picturesque...we'll definately be back on our next holiday to Dorset ..a true little Gem!! Thank you.
A huge thank you to Robyn and Will who came to my rescue when I broke my elbow on the coastal footpath. They couldn't have been more helpful. Robyn provided first aid and walked me out to the road, then Will drove me to A&E in Dorchester, all out of the kindness of their hearts. What lovely people! The coffee was good too!
Nice pub luckily there car park ticket machine was broken so got free parking
if I had to pay £4 to have a pint in the pub I would of turned around and drive back out again
Lovely old pub. Have been coming for years. Unfortunately, menu seems to be getting smaller & they ran out of the favourites, so disappointed. However, the front of house waiter made up for it with his great personality.
Had lunch here today. Gorgeous setting, beautiful garden, great pint of Best bitter, lovely large ploughman’s with all the trimmings and more and delicious whitebait. Busy place, but service still with a smile and quite quick. Will be back soon.
Booked a table for lunch 2.30pm to be told no roast dinner available only vegetarian. Then told sorry no vegetarian meals left, so we all ordered something from the main meal menu and a side dish of cauliflower cheese to be told sorry all sold out. What a funny day we had. The staff were very apologetic and gave us a round of drinks and a discount. Good customer service we will return but make sure we book an earlier table if we would like to eat a roast dinner.
This was a lovely place before it became part of a chain. They always seem to have some kind of issue last night it was to do with the gas. Usual story of numerous meals sold out. Our table was booked for 6pm our food didn’t arrive until 7pm. There are plenty of front of house staff who are very pleasant problem is clearly in the kitchen and with the food buying. I know it’s Easter weekend but you knew it was coming! Food was ok although thrown on plate. Complacent because of the beautiful location.
Disappointing, there were 6 of us, one being a toddler, one meal came out super early, so that person had to eat that, which upset my son who was hungry, then 30 minutes later the rest arrived, so he had to sit and watch us eat, they forgot half my son’s order, gave my mum a horrible look when she asked for vinegar, food was decent but not worth that wait (my dad wasn’t pleased that it was mostly batter with his chips and hardly any actual fish!), the actual place was quite dirty inside (saw lots of bugs and flies) and the staff obviously didn’t want to be there from the huffing and hardly listening to us, shame, as the location is so beautiful.
