Would highly recommend Abbi if you need any help when looking for a new car seat.

This girl knows her stuff, she answered every question I had, she took her time to explain in detail the benefits of each car seat I was unsure about, she filled me with confidence. Abbi has fantastic customer service skills,

She even came off her lunch break to continue the sale instead of passing me on to another work mate, thats dedication!

Thanks once again abbi, Jude loves his new car seat! X

Went into the store today as my nephew's Xmas present had a missing part and the girl who helped me couldn't have been any more helpful if she tried. She was polite and extremely understanding of my frustration with the item and was more than happy to help. She also come across as loving her job (it can be stressful this time of year) and had amazing customer service skills. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name but she had red hair and was at the customer service desk!!!

We visited today, my daughter wanted to spend her easter money off her nanny. We came to smyths because of easy parking and it's the only shop we know that stocks the new Dc super hero toy my daughter was desperate to get! Upon arrive we have a friendly young guy smile and wave us over we approached him and he immediately addressed mt daughter offering her a balloon and asked if she'd like a chocolate egg! He let her choose one and was so friendly I filled the little card my daughter was so impressed she got these extra treats it really made her day! Great customer service

Was mega impressed with a staff member, vicky. She took the time out to help me and went out of her way to find a Jackson storm car. Been searching everywhere for it and last one in store and she found it. Brilliant service, thanks. One happy son

Can't rate this place enough. Always had great service and it gives you the proper childhood experience of wandering around a toy wonderland which is even more fun with your own little one. Fair prices as well. Stay as you are, future generations need to have this, toy shopping on Amazon won't ever be the same xxx

Shocking! Been declined a replacement pram after only having it 6 months and braking! The store want to send it away for repair let alone all staff I’ve spoken to said the mini uni pram is shocking everyone taking them back! Pram was suppose to be send of next day which was a week ago and it’s still in store today!!!then offering me a loan pram that’s filthy! Head office has tried telling me they should be able to give me a replacement! Store then offered me a pram that already had been repaired (repaired one apparently was only the display one) why would a display one break? Says it all yeah? DONT BUY A PRAM FROM SMYTHS! DONT USE THE PLYMOUTH STORE AT ALL! SHOCKING MANAGEMENT!!!!

I would like to share my recent visit to this store on Sunday 1 May 2016.

Having 2 children aged 6years and 7months we made the switch from ToyRUs to them due to a good product range and it being new to Plymouth.

We have shopped there since the opening and done Christmas and birthdays and the endless children's parties that we attend.

The reason I wish to share my experience is to highlight poor customer service by the Managment team and being made to feel we are wrong for not having a receipt and then to have the female store manager try and tell me the incorrect law regarding the sale and supply of goods act.

Sadly she was corrected due to the fact I own 3 shops within the retail sector and the info she passed was incorrect.

My mother in law purchased on 22 March some baby toys for our new born and the total sale came to just under £140, one of the baby toys developed a fault and I took it back to ask for a replacement.

This was the end of the world to the store for a item that was £20 pounds. She then said it was not returnable to hygiene reason and made up a whole manner of reasons.

Having explained that I did not have the receipt as it was a gift from my mother in law and that she had just been treated with Chemo and we did not wish to disturb her as she is very poorly with cancer, the store refused to exchange the item, saying I might of purchased from another store.

I was forced to call my mother in law from the store to ask her for the receipt. This caused me anger and frustration and still the store refused to assist passing the buck back to company rules and not that of manager discretisation.

While I was dealing with a staff member, I was made to feel that I had 4 members of staff, who were making out that they were clearly doing work, which was pathetic they were hovering around because I was unhappy.

When I also made reference to a faulty scooter that had faulty brakes they again said that it was not there fault, even though last year, when my daughter suffered facial injuries because the brakes failed on the scooter, the company never returned my calls.

When I asked for the Head Office address, they refused to provide me with this, again when I asked for the Area Managers details this was refused, the staff also refused to provide me with details of themselves.

I hope that the store look on my recent experience and understand that when your nursing someone that's dying from cancer that I did not wish to put additional strain on the family member or cause upset. I did not need members of staff to make our experience upsetting and distressful.

Directly as a result, the actions of your staff have now resulted in us refusing to use your store and while it won't affect your profits, Customer Service is of huge importance and running small independent stores and a coffee shop, I bend over backwards to keep the customer happy.

The staff need looking at and perhaps some training in empathy and compassion.

I hope consumers understand that while Smyths have a great selection of toys, Customer Service is important.

Regards

I have just been in the store and the bikes started to fall off their stands whilst stood there, a member of staff was walking past and said ooh and continued to walk past even after I shouted asking for him to stop and put the bikes back as they continued to fall on me my partner, 4 year old daughter and there was two other little boys near by, the member of staff replied well you don’t have to pick them up and still walked off to the till leaving myself and my partner putting the bikes back up I then went to speak to management who I thought would sort it and come back to apologise I then stood by the bikes for 10 more mins to wait for staff to come back so we could have our apology then buy the bike we were intending to buy with helmet and accessories for my daughters birthday which she was excited about, no body came and we then left the shop extremely upset and annoyed that nothing had been dealt with and completely ignored not even a thanks for doing their job and making sure the bikes were again safe ! Absolutely disappointed and disgusted with the service we did / didn’t receive
