Southampton Container Terminal

About Southampton Container Terminal

We provide our customers with fast, reliable and secure services to move their containers through the strategically located port of Southampton

Southampton Container Terminal Description

End to end, door to door, tracked, traced, low-carbon, secure, cost-effective and, of course, on time: never before has moving goods from 'A' to 'B' been so demanding.

Shipside straddleRetailers depend on swift, slick, efficient and highly complex supply chains to bring their goods from all over the world to the shop shelf. Time is money. Often we are talking about 15 minute delivery windows. Reliability is vital.

We understand the pressure on our customers. We recognise our role as a vital link in the supply chain, and we are confident that our own strengths and efficiencies make us a link they can depend on.

Our customers tell us we are the most productive terminal for shipside and landside operations in the UK. We intend to stay that way.

We are not a ‘stand-alone’ operation; we never forget that what happens in the container terminal can have a significant knock-on effect further along the supply chain.

Underlying everything we do is a dedication to productivity and customer service.

... All bookings will be extended in the gate from 19:00-20:00, thus allowing flexibility for trucks which may be late. This should reduce the need for calls to extend bookings while the line is down.

ARE YOU A HAULIER? DO YOU USE SOUTHAMPTON?
PLEASE HELP US TO HELP YOU
We have seen a rise in the number of hauliers requesting their import container to be re-adjusted after they have been loaded.
... These ‘re-seats’ result in extra loading time for both our drivers and you.
The most common cause is that, prior to collecting their import, the driver hasn’t adjusted their trailer size properly for a 20ft or 40ft box.
Please could we ask for your co-operation remembering to
• Check that your trailer size is adjusted to the correct box length • Ensure that twist locks are fully opened • Double check that the box is sitting correctly before giving the DPWS van driver a ‘thumbs up’.
This will save us time and get you on the road quicker.
Many thanks in advance. DP World Southampton

User

Never had a problem here . waiting time when it does happen beats Felixstow every time

User

At times. It's to be expected with the hold ups but all in all a lot better than other ports around the country

User

Pai daca acolo o frec toata saptamana normal ca este OH

User

Ok when running right but always seems to be fucked lately

User

Nightmare at transfer 3 tonight not the first time

User

Can't seem to handle the volume of trucks every time you go in there seems to be a lot of stadlers parked up and the afternoon is the worst time to go in there especially if they have got a ship in we are the bottom of the pile regardless of how many hrs we have done and running out of time there is no were to park no toilet facilities on docks no refreshments any where they don't care about us

User

Bring back the newsagent/grocer shop and it may deserve a third star, there are no driver facilities what so ever, the only overnight parking is in the services on the M27 (expensive) or in Ower if Your lucky to find a space.

User

No facilities for hot drinks , parking very limited and totally set out all wrong , need to catch up with the times

User

It's a SHIT HOLE.

User

If your a ship great if your a truck you a last priority. Any waiting areas have or are being removed. Forcing drivers to park in Southampton outside the docks causing problems for other areas.
