Some more Advent calendars were delivered to our office today, so that we can distribute them around the hospital. We had to stop Sammie the Bear from scoffing them all!
These will bring so much joy to our patients, many thanks to Deborah for this amazing donation.

We are so excited when we see gifts for our patients coming into the hospital. In fact, I think we are just as thrilled as those who will eventually end up with the gifts!!

Thank you to everyone who has joined Southampton Hospital Charity and Mars Wrigley in the main entrance of the hospital today.
An array of cakes and baked goods have been on sale, plus ‘guess how many skittles in the jar’ and ‘what’s in the box’ games. It is still not too late to join in!
An amazing prize draw is also being held, with tickets being sold in the charity office by main reception. First prize: MWC Christmas Hamper, Second prize: MWC goody bag, Third prize: MWC gi...ant cookie.
In addition, a team of three from Mars Wrigley have been out and about in Southampton with a packet of chewing gum and attempt to trade it for something of higher value. Items will be traded up ad nauseum and the final items will be auctioned at Mars Wrigley with the proceeds going to Southampton Children’s Hospital Charity.

We want to say a massive thank you to Barratt Homes for their continued support of our C3 Hamwic cancer ward.
They held a second successful golf day earlier this year for the ward, which raised an incredible £21,477 with over 100 golfers attending the event and evening party. At the cheque presentation with staff on C3 Hamwic ward, it was discussed that the money will help towards refurbishing the disabled toilet on the ward, making it more suitable for their patients.
Their ...first golf day for the cancer ward raised £17,947, and today Richard Langton from Barratt Homes got to see first-hand the impact this has made for our patients. The donation meant that ten new reclining chairs could be bought for the unit for patients going through chemotherapy which takes hours to administer.
Thank you so much for your support and all that you do for our cancer patients.

We had a great night and it was such an honour as their local hospital in the NHS' 70th year.

What a start to the weekend! We want to say a MASSIVE thank you to the Whitfield family for donating the money so we could install this large image on one of the D2 cancer ward bays.
Hopefully this will provide a great distraction for the patients on that ward so they can forget where they are, and imagine they are somewhere else!

This event was a supporter celebration announcing we hit our £2 million target for the children's emergency and trauma department, in partnership with The Murray Parish Trust.
