Southwick Brewhouse Description

Southwick Brewhouse was opened to the public in 2005 when Martin Bazeley from Suthwyk Ales decided it would be the perfect place to set up a real ale and cider shop. With his own brews to look after Martin realised the need to bring in some help. Just at that time Al Stringer had sold the Hawkley Inn near Liss and was keen to bring his expertise in the real ale market to run the Brewhouse, which he has been doing ever since. All the brewing equipment upstairs is available to the public to look around and see how things were done in the 1940's when Dick Olding was brewing there and supplying the Golden Lion next door and the original steam engine runs at the weekend to show exactly how all the old machinery worked. With over 150 different beers and ciders Southwick Brewhouse is the perfect place to stock up on a variety of local and foreign beverages and our hampers make great gifts for any occasion! In May 2013 Al decided to give the pub trade another shot and took up residence at the Carpenters Arms in Norfolk. Matt Hallett took over the running of the Brewhouse, just as tall, hairy and knowledgeable as Al, he is sure to help you find what you are looking for.
