So here is the full set from yesterday mornings shoot at the ever beautiful Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset. I decided for a change to shoot from the western shore instead of the typical central rock ridges.
The western side offers such a stunning array of different textures and foreground features that its hard not to find a pleasing composition. That combined with the slight haze and pastel sky's gave a great tone and feel to the location.
Even with the sun in a few of the shots ...I still decided to pull out the SRB Photographic 10 stop ND1000 and try a few longer exposures pushing that aperture up to f22 to eek out as much shutter time as possible which is challenging with the light levels changing mid exposure as clouds pass across the sun, so its always a bit of a gamble but I think it pays off and its not something many photographers even attempt.

White Towers:
A shot taken on a recent session teaching Landscape photography at Durdle Door in Dorset.
This 20 second exposure was taken as the very last shot of the session in strong winds so wasn't easy to capture. Im happy however that the mood and atmosphere came out well.
... Taken on my more basic Canon 700D that I use for demonstration shooting with an 18-135mm at 35MM with an SRB Photographic 10 stop filter. / f11/ ISO100

I got a very nice gift today from the BBC Countryfile team Celebrating my October feature in the Countryfile 2019 Calendar for Children In Need. A lovely framed print of my image and a calendar signed by John Craven.
I may not have won but that's not the point. What's more important is the honour of being part of something that last year helped raise more than £2million for Children around the world who are suffering.
Many thanks to the judges, the team behind Countryfile, a...nd you guys out there who supported and voted. :-)

From a set of shots I did last year that I never got round to processing.
Cathedrals and churches always make for a fun shoot due to the challenging conditions but stunning tones and light effects. Usually they are low light, but very high in contrast between the inside of the building and the windows making it difficult to get everything right in one exposure, and the need for longer exposures if you want to keep the ISO down to a minimum, Exposure bracketing is often a good... way around this. (shooting the same images at 3 different exposure settings and then blending in post to get one single image with a very wide tonal range)
The calm relaxed atmosphere also encourages you to take your time and gives you chance to play, so how about a -1/0/+1 set, but just to make things different, lets zoom the shot whilst taking the longest exposure and then blend them all together to get an interesting effect....
