DRUG FREE PAIN RELIEF FOR HORSES We are really pleased to be able to offer a new addition to our supplement range. BozMerix is a revolutionary neutraceu...tical to assist with orthopaedic comfort in equines of all disciplines and ages. Of particular use to support horses that suffer from stiffness, that are older, during periods of rehabilitation, during intense training and competition or as an alternative to horses that require long-term “bute” or cannot tolerate traditional pain-relief for whatever reason or condition. Bozmerix is designed to support the horses’natural anti-oxidant system. One of the challenges for all riders is the lack of products that are “kind to the gut” whilst trying to alleviate pain and oxidation in their horses joints, which are often going through extreme pressure and endurance. Bozmerix is the development of requests from theses riders, to produce a product that is Free From Prohibited Substances with a sound scientific basis. There are no sugars or fillers in Bozmerix. It only consists of the 4 key ingredients – Curcuma Longa, ASU, Omega 3 and Boswelia Serrata. It comes in an easy to use sachet to be fed 1 a day ( or 2 daily if in competition or following surgery), it is very palatable and can be fed with wet or dry morning feed. Please contact the office if you have any further questions about this product or think that it would suit your horse.

**** Confused about when to worm and what to worm with???**** We know that worming is a confusing topic, as there are so many wormers on the market. We have formulated a worming programme for our clients to assist with keeping horses under our care healthy.
**Worm Egg Counts** Many clients may be reluctant to perform a worm egg count, as the initial cost of multiple tests, which will give a more accurate result than a single test, could exceed the anthelmintic treatment itsel...f. Although this isn’t always the case: a recent cost-comparison analysis of target treatment protocols in horses identified that anthelmintic use based on the results of worm egg counts was reduced by 82%, which on average could lead to a saving of up to £294/yard/year when compared to a typical interval-treatment programme. This is of course dependent upon the number of horses in the yard. The results of worm egg counts are most useful when all horses sharing grazing are tested together, as approximately 80% of strongyle eggs are shed by around 20% of the total population in a group of horses sharing the same pasture. We are offering worm egg counts for 10 horses or less at £6.50 plus VAT per egg count and for groups greater than 10 we are offering a discounted price of £5.00 plus VAT per egg count. If you have any questions regarding worming or would like to order a free worm egg count collection kit, don't hesitate to contact the office on 01647 231246

**** Pre-order your sweet itch vaccination **** The sweet itch vaccination is a relatively new development in the management of sweet itch. It involves two injections two weeks apart before the onset of any clinical signs. For this reason we recommend injecting between February and March when the fly population increases. The vaccine works by blocking the release of histamine thus preventing the itch/scratch cycle from the outset. So far studies have found promising results i...
