Sure Start Central Locality

Sure Start is a national programme that aims to improve the lives of families with children under 5. It is a part of the Government's drive to tackle child poverty and social exclusion, by improving health and the well-being of families and children.

Sure Start offers lots of different services and activities, including:

Learning through play, toy and book libraries, and parent & toddler groups.

Health advice from Midwives and Health Visitors including ante natal classes, health clinics, speech and language therapy clinics, breastfeeding support and baby clinics as well as advice and support for parents including parenting classes, first time parents groups, weaning group and a dads breakfast club every Saturday morning.

Information and advice is available for parents who would like training and job opportunities.
