Boot Boys Brown Ale 5% - Classic northern Brown Ale, rich in caramel and malt with a nutty finish
... Antivenom IPA 6% - An IPA with attitude, this one is like our current keg citrastar, but on Steroids
Next on the guest keg we have the just great Flat Out IPA 4.5% - citrus orange with a dash of honey, pineapple, lemongrass with a beautiful hoppy underlay. Mega juicy and refreshing, once this hits the pump it won't last long.

Now it's time for beer. We are big fans of trooper beer here, so we got some in for you lot to try it f u haven't already. Here's a few pics of the original launch a few years ago when our gaffer got the second ever pint poured. (This is contested because of alcohol intake) poured by the guy who helped develop the taste, Bruce Dickinson, lead singer from Iron Maiden, pilot, author, Olympic fencer, aviation company director, motivational speaker, brewer and all round decent bloke. He did say that the commemorative plaque in the pics was better than the Brit award they won by far. 10+ million pints in now it's one of the most successful brews ever.

Just to let you all know. Our tequila Friday promotion has now ended. Selling really terrible tequila for a quid a shot is not really where we would like to head as a pub. Thanks.

The morning cleaning playlist got a bit heavy yesterday but it's kinda inspired us to slip a few lighter 70's punk tunes into our playlists for tonight just for a change. We've got the beer covered with anarchy citrastar on tap, boot boys and guzzolene in cans. Smashin!

We've been really busy I the past week having a spruce up n a bit of a change around. Lots of new things to follow soon but in the mean time stick ya heeds in n have a beer. We've got some new bottled and can beers in and back to 2 real ales on tap. Oh yeah, we have gin. Lots and lots of it.

Starting this Friday, get the tequilas in..

It’s Thursday which means we’re one more day away from the weekend! Why not celebrate the kids being back to school and join us tonight for 2 prosecco for £6 or 2 cocktails for £10? We’re also serving our amazing tapas until 9pm tonight so there’s something for everyone!

Went in last weds as the place we'd planned to go was shut. Really nice bar, great selection of gins. Went back on Friday with a diff group of friends & all loved it. Nice to see a team of very young staff managing things in a friendly & professional way. Didn't eat but other mates were in & said their food was superb!! Will be back.

We went yesterday for drinks and food. We were the only people in the whole place which we thought was strange on a saturday afternoon. Its a real shame as tapas was absolutely fantastic really good food and a great selection of drinks and cocktails. Lovely staff. I hope more and more people go as it seems such a shame for such a nice place to be so quiet... people are missing out!

We hired out The Secret Dining Room a couple of weeks ago for a hen party and I have to say, it was fantastic! Right from from booking, through to the event itself, everything was spot on. Sophie was quick to respond to any queries we had before the day.

Don’t expect your food to all come out at once, but this wasn’t a problem and as I would say this is expected with tapas meals.

Considering the amount of people, all of the pre-ordered food came out perfectly. As far as I was aware everyone enjoyed hot tasty food.

The portions are MASSIVE! For that price, I would have preferred much smaller portions but 4 dishes instead of 3 for more variety.

The room is great for small gatherings, there was music controlled by an iPad that you could control yourself, volume up or down.

I particularly liked that we were looked after but also left to our own devices. There was no pressure to leave and seemingly no time limit to how long you had the room.

I do hope that places like Tanner Smiths will lead the way to a better and classier Whitley Bay in the future.

Was in there last week really nice excellent bar staff my mate dropped his phone and she came to the fire station to look for us to give him it back (didn't even realize he had lost it) well beyond the call of duty and wouldn't even take a drink off him so honest of her definitely be back soon

Was at Tanner Smiths for a baby shower yesterday and was very impressed with the food!! We had a buffet but all the dishes were from the tapas menu!! The ribs were my favourite!! I will be returning soon for tapas and wine!! Great place! Great food!! Great Gin 😃

Took a party of ladies this afternoon and the Tapas Buffet we ordered was great , lots of it and great variety, thank you to Sophie and the team for great service with a special mention to Joseph who was smashing xxx

Second visit to this great place and it was just as good , booked a table on line and everything was ready for our little group . The tapas was delicious and the prosecco washed it all down very nicely ! Despite being busy the service was really good again and the staff very helpful so thank you very much �

Really lovely and comfortable place to go for a few drinks. I have not tried the tapas yet but there where some amazing smells! Fabulous gin menu! � Love it! �



I have been back since my initial review for tapas and it is just fabulous!

Last week I arranged for a family meal for 15 people at Tanner Smiths and it was great. We used the small side room and opted for a selection of tapas which was lovely . Sophie was so helpful when organising and planning.

We would definitely come again.

I hired out the venue for my sisters baby shower on Sunday and it was fab, the room was perfect, staff were very helpful and the food was lovely. Couldn’t have been happier and my sister absolutely loved her day so thank you so much! Will defo recommend and hire again in the future! X

First time we’ve eaten here and the tapas were amazing, definitely recommend it. My youngest son had chicken nuggets and fries from the kids section of the menu and he really enjoyed it too. Staff are hard working and very polite. We’ll most definitely return.

Amazing selection of gins... A real must for gin lovers. All served in massive gin glasses with tasty garnishes. Mmm.... Also a nice selection of craft beers for the beer drinkers.

Recently had a large mixed tapas meal for 20 people the day before our wedding... literally couldnt fault anything absolutely beautiful mix of tapas and at a very reasonable price. Lovely atmosphere too. Thanks!

A little gem!!Just what Whitley Bay needs a really lovely place with great food great drinks and amazing staff who are so friendly.If you haven't already been for a visit you are missing out so get yourself along!!!!

The gin board was great. What a novel idea and gives the opportunity to sample some unique and unusual gin. The advice given over what to pair each gin with was invaluable.

The food was delicious with ample size portions and definitley enough to share each dish.

Lovely decor and furniture.

The only reason I've given a 4 star rating and not a 5 is because it was so very cold. In fact too cold to enjoy being sat.

Turn up the heating and I'm sure people will stay a while.
